i dont think its that the RAM is that much different, but more that the whole system is different than pc's, and the needs of the systems are different

The funny thing is the PS1 versions of the first 2 games are running on a system with 2 meg system ram -and 1 meg video ram.

there is a huge difference between video ram and system ram, resident evil needs 256 MB system ram with windows running and other apps, it probably uses around 32mb vram max, you cant compare it to PS3

Eh where did you get that from ?

Only checked RE2 so far but that needed a minimum of 24MB and the recommended amount was 128MB.
Also it's obvious that the PC also has Windows and several other things running in the background. Furthermore RAM from the past is much slower than today's.
