Forums - Gaming - Apple announces 128GB iPad

http://www.macrumors.com/2013/01/29/apple-to-launch-128-gb-ipad-on-february-5-for-799929/

LOL. That's a $300 premium for what amounts to $60-70 of additional storage. When news of this started to break, I had hopes that Apple was going to revise the iPad with a 32/64/128 model at the same price points.

I'm not one to complain about pricing often but COME ON. What a rip-off.

o.O What a ripoff. I could buy an entire Nexus7 for that price...

Outside of their storage price points, Apple is competitive with all their iOS devices. There's this great myth that Apple is somehow screwing customers with their price points and that's just not the case. Outside of the "sold at no profit or a loss" Nexus 10, the iPad is very competitive with its base model pricing and the iPhone can be had for the same on-contract $200 that you'll pay for any top shelf Windows or Android phone.

But their storage price points just make me shake my head. It's time to bump up the storage to a 32/64/128 line of products to stay in line with what's happening in the flash storage market.

Apple has no competition in the tablet market, I'm disappointed with the lack of high res screens on Android tablets(higher than 1920x1080), and I keep waiting on Surface Pro that should've come out this month.

yeah they are crazy if it comes to extra price for more storage which costs them probably like nothing to produce compared to what they want for it.

Uh, the Nexus 10 has a higher resolution screen than the iPad.

128 for pad. But not for touch. Yeah, thanks apple... I'm still waiting for them to kill off the Pod classic already.

Congrats, the only Android tablet to do so and its not even available worldwide while a new iPad comes out just weeks after the announcement. I also heard its not as smooth and fast as the iPad 4.
