I don't have 3DS or Wii U. But if I were you, I'd buy 3DS considering its big library and this year releases.

Give Wii U another year or two if you want to buy it, by then the library should be great.

3DS, and then you shall have ALL the Pokemon.

i say get a 3DS now and then wait until the holiday to buy a wii u when more games are out

If you could only purchase one for the rest of your life, I would recommend Wii U. If you need something to entertain you right now, I would say 3DS. But it seems like you're interested in the long run, so the answer has to be Wii U. Consoles libraries are generally better than portable libraries.

Still, you can't go wrong with either. Both are backwards compatible, both have huge potential, and both will be carefully supported by Nintendo for years to come.

Anyway, let us know which one you choose.

3DS seems to have the better library now but if you're willing to wait longer I feel the Wii U is going to have a much better lineup and much more potential in the future. So I suppose if you're the patient type, go for Wii U. If not, 3DS.

I can't really afford either atm after I took the plunge on a new gaming PC so that makes the choice easy for me.. Be happy you can afford one of them

I would get the Wii U if I could only have one.

It has some great games already that will tide you over until more big releases.

ZOmbi U is awesome, Mario is great, Scribblenauts is fun, Assassin's Creed, Batman, Call of Duty are worthy.

It has Rayman, Monster Hunters, Lego City coming in Feb and March.

It also has tons of good games like Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, Mario Kart, Wind Waker, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, 3D Mario, Wario etc coming out

Wii U.

Even though Nintendo does support their handhelds well, generally speaking their best software tends to be on consoles.

NSMB Wii > NSMB DS

NSMB U > NSMB2

Mario Galaxy 1 or 2 > Super Mario 3D Land

Mario Kart DS = Mario Kart Wii

Zelda: TP or SS (Wii) >> Zelda: PH or ST (DS)
