Would have to lower the settings to keep 60fps with my current PCs. I never use VSynch, but no game has screen tearing as horiible as DS2
Judging by those tweets, they're not interested in buying the studio or the rights to Darksiders. They're interested in hiring the employees and consider them a talented bunch. They compliment them on the Darksiders series but there's nothing there to suggest a straight up buy out of anything.
EDIT: On the other hand, Platinum Games straight up said they're interesting in buying them on the cheap.

Well, last month Darksiders was free for EU PS+ users. Now it is free for US PS+ users.
It isn't out of the realm of possibility that Darksiders might have a future on Playstation. It definitley may have gained some fans over te last few months.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

The value is in the studio's talent, not in its IP in things like Darksider, which is not terribly successful commericially unlike GTA or CoD. If they can grab these talents plus making it a Santa-Monica development studio (like a 2nd team) then I think it will have a bright future. Two teams working on Action Adventure or with one doing Fighting game, while one pumps our action RPG or action adventure would be the way to go.

None that I'm aware of. Screen tearing and some FPS drops when you just enter an area.
I'm fine with that resolution aswell. Aslong as a talented team gets to stay together and working on good games.
Not too surprising, actually. Sony do have a habit of buying whole studios, but there was no point of them doing it in this case. If noone bought Vigil, they could simply hire some of the key staff members afterwards. Makes sense, really. Could stick some of them on the GoW development team and them move some of the long-time SSM staff over to the new team working on the FPS.
Don't see why they'd buy the Darksiders IP though, just doesn't make much sense. It's not like buying Volition because Saints Row is a 5+ million franchise and Darksiders, apparently, struggles pushing 2 million. Nor is it like buying a studio with a game nearly finished, because DS2 literally just shipped and it would take a couple of years for DS3 to materialise. I get that it seems to be beloved on VGChartz, but I'd be very surprised if Sony picked it up.
