It's scary. I'm not sure I want any part of it. This is going to be like being pushed into cold water for a lot of the 'core' market Nintendo seems to want back. I understand kind of why they're being this way but I'm not sure they can have both worlds.

Hopefully they'll tone it down as the console gets a broader audience and as Nintendo gets more feedback and more familiar with this new setup.

Possibly.  Nintendo has to be a lot more careful about blacklash that Sony or Microsoft, though.  "My kid saw a penis on Xbox" wouldn't make the 6 o'clock news but "my kid saw a penis on Nintendo" would.  That's unfair in a way, though it's an image Nintendo themselves cultivated.  There are a lot of parents out there who believe that Nintendo isn't -supposed- to have anything not geared toward children.

If Nintendo wants both worlds, they're going to have to slowly change the culture of the system somewhat, I agree with you there, but they run the risk of alienating people on both sides before they reach that point.  It might be a bumpy ride for them.

While I'm glad that my future children are protected from someone like d21lewis (just look at the influence he had on nintendofangirl and we all know what happend to her..)

I think d21lewis actually wanted to be banned.. knowing that Mii verse would come to his smartphone thus protecting himself from more problems.. We all know d21lewis + Miiverse + Smartphone would be a recipe for disaster and the FBI

Muahahahaha this is ridicilous Nintendo.

They should release a mature Miiverse with 18+ content, inaccessible by minors.

Nintendo is discriminating.

Nah...I love the moderation Miiverse has.  The community is so much more pleasant than the typical juvi community most has.  I love that Nintendo is really trying to take the fun out of all those who try to troll or act so juvi.  I myself spends time just browsing Miiverse to report ppl who I think violated the terms and conditions for the community. (hence that's why I will never share my Miiverse here lol).  I got a couple of ppl already actually.  Too bad I didn't get D2 heheheheehe
