So this is what they were working on...

You guys are right, Xenoblade + Monster Hunter. Too bad I'm not really into either of those :B

And plus this game is probably a MMORPG, I wonder how many people still will be exited for this game if they realize that this game is probalbly not the successor of xenoblade in a traditional way, not in the way they hoped. MMOs on consoles are not that awesome normally.

part of my initial skepticism.

You can look at it positively however. Most games early show completely FMV trailers showing the story, and put off gameplay forever and when you see it it's crap. So maybe they're going the opposite route.

if it's going to be too much like monster (in which case I won't even want it), but I think atleast here at VGC it won't matter because everyone likes both games (I only like xenoblade).

Loving this game, also loving some fans of other consoles trying to downplay how epic this looks, i bet if this was on one of their consoles of choice they would be hyping this game like the is no tomorrow!.
And this game is 100% Xenoblade 2 as im pretty sure thats the main character you see at the very end from Xenoblade.
Anyway i cant wait for it. And its madness that Monolith can get a great Nextgen looking RPG with a Huge world out like this soo soon and yet we still have nothing from FF Vs13

Or maybe you're overhyping it? It looks amazing and the scale plus draw distance is beautiful but it's not something that I haven't seen before.

yup way over hyping, looks at read dead redemption on 360 trailer, its has a huge  scale, better detail and better lighting, can nintendo fans please explain why this is so impressive from a techincal point of view, yes if you comprare to rpgs it looks very impressive but there are hardly any that looked amazing this gen.

whoa? The lighting in RR is DX9 level and the lighting I see in X is DX10-11 level with really good details and good FPS, what are you even looking at?

watch the video  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7xfXRSABic watch the towrds the end the lighting is just out of this world, just looks so realistic.

You can't be serious, I'm a PC gamer and I see a clear difference in the 2, RDR isn't even close, especially on the assets.

what assets you talking about. go watch x2 720p at full screen and then get back to me some things look down right pathetic.

I did, look at the environment and character details, how do you even compare the 2? I've been a graphics whore since the early 90s and never have I seen such a ridiculous argument coming from somebody when the difference is this big, WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT??!?!?!

tell me what the diiffernce, i don't see it, granted the huge mountain was the only thing i saw that looked impressive.

Look at the textures, the poly count(both on character and environment+ the monsters), the character details, the actual lighting that I only see in DX10-11 games, I also saw SSAO at certain parts. I think you like RDR better because it looks sharper due to the lack of good AA and that it has a lot of grass but the shadows are generally really blocky since it's based on DX9 tech compared to the more recent Wii U hardware, there is no comparison. Halo 4 would be a much better contender to compare it to and that's nowhere as open while being cel-shaded as well. Just ask anybody else who is a PC graphics whore, they'd also know exactly what I'm talking about.

halo 4 is cell shaded is this some funny joke.

This thread is becoming comic gold, we have people from all sides saying X looks better and one man on a mission to convince us otherwise on RDR.

Well to be fair I said it has some draw backs like the blocky line where the ocean meets the land, the flat sprite bushes that move to face the camera and aren't modeled in any way and the sparse looking world aside from the mountains themselves when flying off of the cliff suggesting pop-up issues.

It looks good but let's not ignore some issues right in front of our eyes.

Now feel free to set me on fire.

not all of it, but it's used in a lot of areas to maintain the looks, if you actually pay attention to the graphics, you'd be able to tell, and it's a very smart way to do it, 343 is no joke when it comes to that, it's a really good studio.

you can see all this and the footage is not even direct feed, the game looks lowres and some textures look very blurry, kind of like a ps2 game, its proabably from the video quality but i will wait and see till we have direct feed pics and video.

lo i'm not trying to convince, many nintendo fans think mario galaxy is the best looking game of this gen, i wanna see how people got from a minute of footage that X2 is doing more impressive techincally, so far all i heard is opinions

You are trying to convince people otherwise you wouldn't be here, what you've read are not opinions either I game on PC for most part and have played RDR on 360 and can still see X is better. We've all pointed out what makes X more impressive you've just chosen to ignore it and simply say "RDR looks better" and post untrue statements like "RDR has better lighting", almost everyone here is dismantling you as a result. You've dug a hole that's only getting deeper with each of your replies at this point it's like watching Simpson's episode only you haven't said D'oh yet.

sorry I meant to do this:

so you seem kinda of biased towards nintendo, i really don't anything your talking about, you claim there is a big differnce but i don't see it all, and another you claim, with out even seeing driect feed pics or video, another thing a expert would never do.
