Red Dead Redemption is a ways behind this. Don't understand how it is even being used as ammo here (nor why, since it is clearly baiting). Entertained for just this once, just look at the difference in rocks, draw distance, sky, and normal mapping overall. Clearly the WiiU's title is superior.

I agree, there is a lot of detail in Red Dead Redemption, but in X I see rendered interactable objects far away. X is definatly not pushing the WiiU, and should it? It's an early title. Looks amazing though

Wow, the graphics do actually look a bit next-genish.

I wouldn't go that far, but they do look a lot nicer than anything we've seen on the Wii U so far; and (possibly) better than most of what we've seen from the HD consoles. I don't want to claim much more than that because it will bring up apples and oranges comparisons between XBox 360 or PS3 games with tiny environments and short draw distances against (what looks like) a very massive open world with a very far draw distance.

Yeah, I guess GTA V screenshots are just bullshit huh? Draw distance isn't any different here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7xfXRSABic look at the graphics in draw distance on this, best looking open world game by far.

lol @ comparing RDR to a JRPG.

I know? WTF is with the graphics comparisons? What's wrong with you people?

This is about taking the best JRPG from last generation and adding playable giant robots.

yes it is.

No it isn't. It's a wallpaper from a pre rendered image, you can't find it in-game...

Dude it not pre-prended it actually how the game looks, you can actually see jaggies on the grass, most of the nicepics are wall papers but they are gameplay pics.

Ok lets say it is....

You can see A LOT of blur in the image, with pretty much no texture. On the "X" footage you don't see any blur (outside of the bad quality image) and you can see the well detailed textures everywhere (even on the distance).

And now I'm really done, if you don't get it by now well keep living in that magic world of yours...I hope no one else lives there.

IT works both ways, killzone 2 for isntance looks way worse than what they said. Granted, this is actual gameplay. But generally, I don't know of any games that improved tech significantly from the early trailers (some more a bit more polished some look worse). Do you?

Ninjablade is being ridiculous now for harking on RDR, ... Skyrim as well as Sleeping Dogs and this looks a lot better than RDR though I'm comparing it to PC.

I absolutely love RDR

But in no way does it look graphically better than X

well really why can't make a comparison till we get full HD pics of X2, really watch the video closly at 720p full screen your will see many parts where the textures stink, jaggies and just medicore graphics.

This game doesn't really look next generation in my opinion. The opening shot with the player running by the ocean, the water looks like a flat polygon, no waves. The water's edge where it meets the land isn't even a smooth curve, it's very blocky. Later in the trailer with the player fighting in a field filed with bushes the camera does a slight move and the bushes all rotate to face the camera indicating they are simply flat sprites & not modeled in any way. This is the same way the trees were done in Mario 64, or the bushes in Dear Ester, they look good in stills but in motion it's distracting. The part where the player enters the robot and flies off of the mountain top the world seems to be fairly spars aside from the mountains themselves, it makes me wonder how much pop-up there will be when moving around.
Those main three points are why, in my eyes this game doesn't look "nex gen".
It could be a very good game though, but the graphics are just "good for 7th gen" IMHO.

the flaws become very apparent once you watch the video in 720p in full screen but you have to understand most nintendo fans are not used currentgen graphics, i imagine if a game, like killzone3, god of war 3 and halo 4 came out on wiiu they would say it looks better then currentgen.

Be careful with saying stuff like this.

Who saying what?

I'll add now that I'm a long time Nintendo gamer who has never owned a Sony or Microsoft console.  I do own an aged gaming PC that couldn't compete with the visuals in this game, however there are some visual short comings with X that I wouldn't expect in generation 8.  Maybe these things will be cleaned up before release and I'll have nothing to complain about.
