Wanting a "cure" for homosexuality sends a message that there's something wrong with being homosexual. We're in 2013 and that kind of mentality should not exist anymore.

How is wanting a cure for homosexuality any different from wanting a cure for Albinoism? There is nothing wrong with being Albino, but I'm sure some Albino people want to be able to go out and not burn with any sun exposure.

It's an acceptible condition, one outside the control of the individual, but it's still a condition. Something is still "wrong" with people like this.

At least I see no difference. Seeing something as a disorder (which most scientists still think it is), but accepting it is exactly the mentality people should have.

Just accepting people with disorders without any consideration of those who wish they didn't have it, is selfish IMO

Don't you think that what should be cured isn't the actual sexual orientation but the negative perception people have of homosexuality?

Imagine a vaccine that would make all those unhappy homosexuals accept who they are instead of changing who they are.

That's the best option if you really want to be proactive.

Sure, I think sexuality can be changed (I won't say "cured" because that implies Homosexuality is bad for everyone). I believe the human mind is capable of much more than many may think. Through deep, constant psychological training, I think people could control what they become attractive to. It probably would be a a long, difficult, and perhaps painful process though.

Would I want people to perform this theoretical procedure? Sure, if they want to. I personally wouldn't care what they do.

It's not a condition, we don't need a cure, we do need to be allowed to just get on with life without bizarre discussions like this taking place. I don't care how logical you think you are, you seem so intrigued by homosexuality and want more research to be done to "cure" it so I feel that you're a homophobe.

I thought we've been over this? It's not a disorder UNLESS the person is unhappy with his or her sexuality. If the person is happy, then there is no disorder.

Could we get a source that shows that science classifies homosexuality as a disorder?

No idea if it can be done.

I think "change" is a better word than "cure".

I think if the technology got that far, people should be able to change back and fourth however they themselves see fit.

Personally, if I was gay, I'd change just to increase the number of availible partners and to increase the chance of my kids having the genes (IE the other biological parent) that I deem worthy.

The only reason a homosexual would be unhappy with his/her sexuality is because of pressure from society. Even entertaining the idea that some homosexuals may be unhappy being that way is homophobic. Don't you understand that? It's homophobia that needs to be dealt with, not homosexuality. The result of the poll shows quite clearly how narrow minded and uneducated people are on the matter of sexual orientation and love.

Great another topic that is either about homosexuality or religion.

My take on the scenario. If we could change it then I say do it to the females (but make them bi) and let the males who are homosexual be that way.

Means less competition for me and more women to pick from and better chance at threesome with two chicks lol.

Well let me be the first.., and im dissappointed in you guys.. To say:

If any not ugly, not looking like a guy, lesbian thinks that she can be cured by having sex with a man.. I'm willing to volunteer.. I'll sacrifice my dick to try this..

discount will be given if you are a lesbian couple who wants to try this..

No offense to those who live their lives based on it, but tell that to those who live their lived based on a 2000+ year old book...

That's pretty offensive to those people.

I'm religious and, based off of my comments in this thread, would you think I'm ignorant to this subject like you're implying?
