Wait wait wait......isn't it like 5$ at gamestop? This isn't really a value this is a rip-off

What 20$ value?? Seriously I just saw a copy going for 5$ or so yesterday

I personally do, as I get everything online so then if I pre-order, I get in the release date (or before) without having to leave home, especially as the only proper game shop is about 20 minutes away and I can't really be bothered (at my actual home, there isn't one for about 30 mins).

I always find that the cheapest place to buy it is online though, I can't really be bothered to look around for a few £ savings when it is plenty cheap on amazon already

I always pre-order from online not only do I get the game close to the relese date, I save $20-30 ordering it from the Uk.

But I bet you don't pre-order months in advance?

{having said all of this, I am pre-ordering GTA from amazon (it definitely won't go bankrupt, something I can't say about any other British retailer) the moment the release date is announced}

Twice I have been screwed over by games not arriving on the day of release plus our postal service doesn't arrive until 14:00 half the time so half the day is gone waiting if they do deliver on the day.  I've not had a game arrive the day before for a couple of years when I have ordered online so I'd rather take the 10 minute trip to town and back to ensure I get it and can play straight away when I do want something on the day of release.  The last game I pre-ordered was Halo 4 which I picked up from my local shop at midnight on release day and the only reason I pre-ordered was to get the Limited Edition guaranteed.

Who do you order from? I normally order from GAME and have never had a problem

I used to use Shopto and Play amongst others.  I used Game for my Halo 3 Legendary Edition which arrived at 13:00 on release day.  If my postal service turned up in the morning perhaps I'd use online retailers more.  I guess in a way it's good I put money into the coffers of my local shops.

Very interesting. Is microsoft doing this to increase sales or increase value?

If it is sales then they are really worried about the other competition that month and are doing this as a last ditch effort to save the game. Consumers like me who only have GeOW 3 are now more likely to buy it.

Or they expect the game to sell well but are worried about a consumer backlash. "This isn't even half the game GeOW 3 was yet it costs just as much." They are adding this to make consumers believe $60 is a fair price.

It would be really bad if both of these reasons are true.

Well for starters this is a $20 value so it should shut up the critics who are saying this may be overpriced.

As for sales it won't be as front loaded as a holiday Gears release, but its definately going to outsell competition like God of War Ascension no problem.

There is more competition in March than GOW:A. Tomb Raider, South Park, and Army of Two are all big games that could steal the thunder. This game is made by a different developer with a different type of campaign releasing in a non traditional month all while lacking the franchises main character. I can guarantee someone is worried about it as demonstrated by the new preview. Instead of showing off the game as "oh cool get this shit" they are needing to say "see, this one really is updated." Usually these upgrades would not receive such emphasis.

It would make a lot more sense to include the 360 version. The PC version is better but the average person buying Judgment doesn't own a gaming PC.

If MS actually cared about GFW this is good way to get more people use it though.

I guess, but being a student, I don't really have the problem of deliveries during the day!
