psvita price cut? |
Well according to people like him and others, with their financial situation they shouldnt have been able to :
came out with expensive bravia TVs, still releasing PC and tablets, redesigned playstations, the vita, still producing movies and selling records, still coming out with expensive SLR and HDR cameras, launching a bond phone and other smartphones, be number 4 in total us patents. im sure a company with as many trouble as it (and yes the company has multiple) would not have the working capital to any of that.

And it's not going to be a standalone, but rather as a peripheral to the Wii. It will be released around the end of this year http://nintendoeverything.com/33410/rumor-game-labo-says-virtual-boy-2-to-be-a-wii-peripheral-more/ - Gamelabo is reporting that Square Enix is working on a PSP version of Dragon Quest IX. http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/16/rumor-dragon-quest-coming-to-psp/ - Nintendo releasing Wii external hard drive http://www.computerandvideogames.com/160189/best-rumour-of-2007-so-far-wii-external-hard-drive/?skip=yes |
Yeah they are more off than not wrong...but you only need one to be right, which you surely will be eventually, for people to pay attention to you. Who know s, but I'm not seeing it

Also, psvita has a greta attach ratio with some popular games. Gravity Rush managed to move 100k months ago with a much smaller install base. |
The 3DS's version (if this is even true) will for sure garner more attention and sales. MHTriG is already on there and the 3DS in Japan is a beast. PSVita, however, isn't. Many people already own MHTriG on their 3DS's. Why would they wast money to buy MH4 on Vita?

QFT, good sir. QFT.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day, they're mostly right on obvious things like God Eater 2 or a sequel to Wii Fit. They've never been right on something this significant or out of left field. All the rumors are relegated to one column called "Charge!! Cyber Crackers". The magazine itself is dedicated to gaming hacks and mods.
Unless Capcom has a score to settle with Sony, it makes good business sense to port the game to the Vita. Although, I don't see a million sales as a few others have suggested for it. I can see it moving a couple hundred thousand units, which it badly needs. I see sales along the 4-500k range more likely due to 3DS massive install base and timed exclusivity, probably at least 6 months to a year.
The business sense part people use around here is wrong. People who want to play this game either have 3DS by now or would get one when it's time. If the PSV gets a port then the sales numbers will be higher than the actual benefit is because those who don't have either device will probably get a PSV but they would have gotten the game either way, on the 3DS. Capcom is not interested in selling one handheld or the other for either company and all sales they would truly get from the additional workload with this move are some drive-by ho-hum might-as-well-cause-its-there sales from PSV owners.
What Capcom would do on the other hand is dividing it's user base on 2 devices because there is no way in hell Nintendo would allow crossplay to a Sony device. Capcom would also backstab those people who already jumped ship from the PSP in anticipation of an exclusive 3DS MH game. It also doesn't make sense from an investment standpoint (see NPV).
The only possible explanation I see is that Capcom decided to push the game back because it simply wasn't finished and decided to use the time to prepare a PSV port but I'm not sure if I wanted to piss off Nintendo for future portabe projects if I were Capcom. I'm pretty sure Nintendo treats Capcom like a VIP right now, making it as comfy as possible(CPP, publishing in the west, providing servers etc.) and those perks will be gone.
Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

Wow, I hope this is true. It would be huge for Sony.
Loving all the Sony bombshells today!
It's not the first time a MH4 version for Vita is speculated and in my opinion it will happen eventually.
Considering how well MH games did on the PSP, there is no reason for Capcom not doing it. Capcom has nothing to win staying exclusive of Nintendo platforms.
