we've had his discussion already.

Lets cut to the chase.

I say PS3 and 360 down 35% plus this year.

What do you say?

360 will be 35% plus down.

PS3 won't. Simple.

yeah. great.

Not sure why you disagree. Last year 360 was down 29% and it had Halo.

Last year PS3 was down 20% and it had nothing.  You think it drops another 35% based on what?

PS3 had 28 exclusives in 2012. It only had "nothing" because the PS3 gamers decided to make nothing of it.

How many of those 28 sold over 1m units?

Exactly.....proved my point.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

lol no....you said PS3 had nothing in 2012. I counterd in that it had 28 exclusives. You counter that hardly any sold over 1 million.

My point was its the PS3 gamers fault for not taking an interest in them, thus dropping 20% YOY, not PS3 itself.

Games that don't reach 1m units are nothing "imo". If I were interested in the game, I'd get it. Obviously none of those 28 exclusives generated much interest, making them "nothing" in my book. I'm not going to chuck money at exclusives just for the sake of exclusivity.

Some had the potential to be something more then what they were. They really did. Oh well, agree to disagree.

the only potential retail exclusive that could move units last year was PSallstars and that had dismal pre-orders and was a new IP so you could see it coming that it wouldn't provide a big initial spike.  LoU, GoW, Beyond, and even Sly doing decent pre-orders with all but Sly far from release.  After all those and a price cut when they anounce PS4/at E3 they will see a decent spike.  I could see PS3 doing 10 million considering it had nothing to move systems last year (games or price cut).  LoU could be huge for the survival horror genre if it's done right and let's be honest it's ND so it's gonna be done right.  That's the kind of game that can move systems through word of mouth.  You are right about 1 thing though, Sony must market things right.  If they can get that market together and make them show gameplay and get the basic point of the game accross through narration they'll see some big sales during the year with GoW (one of Sony's big 3 along with Uncharted and GT), price cut, and LoU.  Journey was the biggest critically acclaimed exclusive last year and it was downloadable.  They gave no incentive last year for anyone who didn't buy a PS3 in 11 to buy one then yet it only declined 20%.  With some big system selling moves this year we could see 10% or even less decline.

You guys are talking about the PS Vita being ouch look at the 360 it only sold 99k. MS needs to do something soon otherwise their console is done.

Nintendo won't and can't slash the price by $50 let alone $100 this early.

Precisely, its basic maths. The Wii U is already selling at a loss, if Nintendo cut the price by a full 100$ they would likely sell at a loss far into 2014 (probably the whole year, the Gamepad is rather costly to produce even if the other hardware components drop drastically in price) and that would spell true disaster, by that time the 3DS won't be pulling in enough cash to cover the losses and since Nintendo live solely off of gaming, they can't afford to let cash trickle out of the company, as opposed to MS, for instance.

At least us WiiU and Vita fans can cry into sleep together. Way to improve the relationship between Sony and Nintendo fans :D
