what makes you say that?  GT5 was the anomoly in the GT series.  They pushed out GT and GT3 close to the launch of their respective systems.  I would expect GT6 to be out in 2014 or 2015.

Gran Turismo 1 was released in 1997 the PS1 was released in 1994 I wouldn't say that is close to launch the only GT game that released close to launch was GT3 and feature wise it was the worst in the series it contained the fewest tracks and barely had more cars then the first game.  Each Forza game so far has come out two years after the previous one but I doubt that Forza 5 will come out this year as a lauch title for the next MS system but I'm sure it will be out sometime next year.  The only way GT6 will be released in 2014 is if the PS4 lauches this fall and they don't release GT6: Prologue.

Horizon and Forza 4 are actually just one year apart.

Horizon was made mostly by Playground games even though Turn 10 Studios got co-developing credit for the game.

GT5 is one of those games that will still keep on selling even when the PS4 is out.

Especially since GT6 will not be a launch or early launch title for the PS4.  I'm pretty sure that Forza 5 will be released before GT6.

Turn 10 has more then double PD employees.

And lower profits.

Not really they outsource a lot of their work (lower cost) plus they have a lot more DLC.

Not really its a spin off something Polyphony Digital also tried but with much less success with Tourist Trophy.

Are you comparing the $260m that Sony made from GT5 (not counting DLC) to Forza? You gotta be kidding me.

Well they have four games with more DLC then GT5 , Forza 2, Forza 3, Forza 4 and Forza Horizon so when it comes to DLC they made a lot more money then GT5.

Of course the cost will be higher next gen. But not that much like PS2 cost vs PS3 cost, depending if the leap will not be as big as many think, hope.

GT5 sold about 1.8 million in 2011 and about 1.6 million in 2012.  And GT5 needs about 1.4 million in 2013 to pass 10 million total lifetime sales.

BTW: GT5 should pass Halo Reach in 2013.

Global Annual Summary (Units)

YearYearlyChangeTotal
2010 5,264,164 N/A 5,264,164
2011 1,783,148 -66.1% 7,047,312
2012 1,551,006 -13.0% 8,598,318
2013 32,478 -97.9% 8,630,796

I wouldn't hold my breath, especially if the PS4 launches this year. The majority of GT5 sales are in Europe. Sales everywhere else is pretty low. Still can't believe people are buying this game considering how bad it was when it launched. Glad I got mine as a bundle.

That's the problem here... the game is not bad even in the launch... everybody that brought the game enjoyed and have certain that it is so good.

You can even watch how it is good...

Yeap. They need two reviews of 40 minutes to cover the GT5 features (not all of course).

Sometimes I think well the game not matched the all the high expectations but how can anybody says a 80-90 score game is bad???

So is Halo 4 bad too? I don't think so.
