9: A Simple Plan (1998) Sam Raimi

A great psychological thriller and one of the best movies from the 90s. Great characters and an amazing plot. this movie really shows the true nature of a human being and accurately as possible predicts human behavior. Its one of a kind and could easily be a classic.

Great movie, good suggestion to watch again soon.
Have you seen U-Turn? I loved Billy bob Thornton in that one too.

The director of my next movie must have been really inspired by Baraka, as he copied a couple of scenes directly and shot in some of the same locations for his movie. In a way it's also an ode to the stuntmen of the silent era.

Beauty and the Beast

Beauty and the Beast is the finest fantasy movie ever made, and definitely one of the more magical movie experiences of its generation. The entire movie is something out of a dream, mysterious and metaphorical. Set design, costume design, visual effects, and trick shots are all something to behold. A beautiful, endearing, surprising, and ultimately uplifting movie.

how the main character gets into funny situations its just hilariouse

Tsubasa Ozora

Keiner kann ihn bremsen, keiner macht ihm was vor. Immer der richtige Schuss, immer zur richtigen Zeit. Superfussball, Fairer Fussball. Er ist unser Torschützenkönig und Held.

8: Lord of War (2005) Andrew Niccol

A smart movie about an arms dealer who finds himself chased by interpol. saw it a couple of times and i must say its a piece of art. its not just about guns but life itself. its just a bigger more epic story for the average man who also finds himself into similar situations. Cage shines in this one and its simply put his best film ever.

Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.
Lord of war is on my short list too. The excuse that works for everything, If I don't do it, somebody else will.

9. The fall, 2006, Tarsem Singh

A beautifully made mode about interactive storytelling. Set in the 1920's Roy Walker, a stuntman, gets hurt while jumping of a bridge. In the hospital he meets 5 year old Alexandria and tries to manipilate her with a fantasy story to help him commit suicide. The story becomes a metaphor for his lack of will to live but Alexandria convinces him in the end to keep the characters and himself alive.
The acting by Catinca Untaru (Alexandria) is supurb and feels completely natural through out. The hospital settings and fantasy settings are amazing, partly influenced by Baraka. I love the beautiful wide cinematography that shows the scale of the landscape.
Great movie, a shame he didn't continue on this path and instead made Immortals and Mirror mirror next.

7: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) Michel Gondry

This one explores a deeper meaning of love then any other movie I saw..as the movie progresses the two soon find out that they are simply not made for each other but something holds them together. the most original lovestory on screen ever made. i only saw this movie twice that is 8 years ago and there is nothing i have forgotten. im just waiting for the right moment to watch this masterpiece again.
