nice idea for a movie but badly executed

Tsubasa Ozora

Keiner kann ihn bremsen, keiner macht ihm was vor. Immer der richtige Schuss, immer zur richtigen Zeit. Superfussball, Fairer Fussball. Er ist unser Torschützenkönig und Held.

my next movie is about a man who is the star of a  "BIG" show :))

Yep it's Leon

36. Leon: The professional, uncut, 1994, Luc Besson

Jean Reno, Gary Oldman and especially Natalie Portman are all great in this movie.
After her family gets killed in a drug bust by a corrupt DEA agent, Mathilda decides to move in with Leon who turns out to be a professional hitman. She coaxes him into helping her take revenge for her little brother.
I would advise to watch the uncut version. It has 22 minutes of extra footage showing more of the relationship dynamic between Mathilda and Leon. It was cut out for the American market to either make it more action oriented or make Mathilda look more innocent.

one thing i would like to hear is what made that one movie special for you..

is that to much to ask ? :*D

Yes the idea was pretty good, the mafia style wasn't. I don't think it will become a cult hit either. That wat it felt like to me, a bad attempt at making a cult classic while it could have been a pretty good action movie.

My next pick is still up in the air, it's a choice between two great movies from the 80's, representing a lost art in special effects. No room for both on my list and I haven't finished rewatching the second one yet. Ni No kuni is out :)
The one movie excels in sheer craftmanship of the decors and character while the other is a mix with live action based on a book.

You know how difficult that question is...

The tension between the characters. The scene where Mathilda puts a gun to her head threatening to pull the trigger to force Leon to admit that he cares for her stands out the most for me.
I guess the way Mathilda changes Leon's completely monotonous unrooted life / way of thinking.

My #37 is E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. This movie has a reputation as a family film, but that label obscures its greatness. E.T. is filled with dozens of magical movie moments, including a handful of immortal scenes. Spielberg coaxed great performances out of his young cast and managed to take a very fantastical story and ground it in reality. One of the most heartwarming and tear-jerking movies ever made.

My wife hates that movie, it's a horror movie to her. E.T. is not suited to watch at a young age.
ET is the same to her as Jack Nicholson in the shining or Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the lambs.
I watched it as a teenager and was bored by it. Now I can't watch it again, it's not allowed inside the house.

I saw it as a kid (10 year old) in Germany shortly after it was released there in December of 1982 it didn't scare me at all though it was a great movie then and still think its a great movie now will also make my list.

Posted my 37th pick Braveheart next on my list is a movie that already made another list. Its considered to be the first summer blockbuster.
