DS hardware bounces back from its 2006 low, while 3DS hardware drops a bit more sharply than I anticipated. Neither console had any major new releases in these respective weeks.

Week 8 preview: DS sales drop slightly down to 43,765. This is the final week before the DS Lite launch. I don't believe any major 3DS titles were released the week ending February 24, so I expect 3DS sales to drop further. Thankfully, the following week is somewhat stacked with three major titles releasing, so that'll be a fun one to watch.

DS drops a bit in anticipation of next week's launch of the DS Lite. 3DS drops as well, still in its post-DQ fall, despite the release of minor title Magi: The Labyrinth of Beginning to 28k first week sales.

Week 9 preview: The DS Lite launches in Japan alongside several game releases, propelling DS hardware sales to almost 125k. The 3DS also has several major releases next week, including Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission and Professor Layton and the Azran Legacies. Now it gets serious.
