Is it me or does the game still seem grid based. Maybe it wouldn't be Pokemon if they changed that but a 3d game just doesn't seem right with 4 directional movement. imo they should have kept the old view or changed the movement system.

This dhot here just screams "custom characters". Mirror. Silly glasses on hat. Dressing table/wardrobe.

Yep, I'm sold. Was really worried polygons would look terrible, but transition was handled well. Can not wait to see other designs and full list of all the monster sin the game.

Such did the prior NeoGAF thread imply, although it was wrong about starters.

I'm not entirely impressed with how the wide-open areas look, but the smaller areas (like forests) look amazing, as do the battles

I honestly wasn't expecting that. Nintendo will dominate in Japan!!

I was hoping it would actually be like Pokemon Coliseum this is good enough. The 3D will be nice, but what I'm interested in the most though is how that battle system will work out considering all of the moves Pokemon has.
