This series never really caught my interest, but have to admit the sales are quite surprising. There has to be something good in there.
Though personally, i am more pleased by Iwata recognising that download version of game dont sell as good without a price cut in general. At least they get that part.
| green_sky said: What kind of game it is. I've thought of picking up the DS version back in days but than just wasn't sure. These games barely drop in price too. Edit: My question was bizzare since i've seen the gameplay videos and reviews. Yet, i question what kind of game it is. Fascinating. |
Imagine The Sims but actually fun.

Haha. Thanks. Interesting way of putting it. Never got into sims. Doing the chores i barely liked to do in real life. I like fun though. So its tempting.
It's still a far away from the original's total sales, but it's selling a lot faster than the original did. Wild World took 17 weeks to reach 2.3 million, compared to New Leaf's 8.
4 million is looking likely, and 5 million isn't impossible. It's not impossible this will be the 8th gen's best selling game in Japan.

Judging by Famitsu's numbers, Animal Crossing sold 1.8 at retail, .3 download cards and .2 eshop download. A nice feat for a company that came into the digital age with caution.

To add on what you said, WW had NoA sales included!

Is Animal Crossing the new DQ of the East? Those are some impressive numbers. I'm also considering getting it.
Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward = best game ever made.
