Btw. weed is bad for sex but Alcohol is as well so there is that.
Tobacco is legal and that is way more harmful an addicting than something like Marijuana. If any drug should be legal, its Marijuana since it actually has some medical purposes. No one is saying they should legalize and start advertising MJ on TV, it should be only sold in stores where Tobacco is sold and of course only to those of age.

What do you have against xtc? It's been a long time since I used it, and I did do my research at the time and had a good clean source.
It's basically a therapy drug that lets you more easily connect with other people next to a general feeling of joy.
It helped me open up at the time and break down some of the walls I had put up around me. And it was a lot of fun during raves ofcourse.
It is not addictive and it starts being less effective if used a couple times after another. For best effect you have to wait a month in between at least.
Like anything there are negatives that can hit hard if you're not prepared. Don't forget to drink fluids and make sure you don't have to do anything the next day as you likely won't sleep most of the night, plus your mood will swing in the opposire direction for the next day.
I don't see a problem with legalized xtc with the right information attached. The biggest problem is that the illegal version is usually cut with other drugs or contains half finished product.
Cannabis should be legalized first anyway. Get some guidelines on THC concentration and a better distribution form then burning smoke. Inhaling is still the best way as the effects are almost instant, much better then alcohol to gage when you've had enough.
The only problem I see is that combining alcohol with cannabis is not a good thing, hence 'coffeeshops' in Amsterdam don't serve alcohol. Allowing 'coffeeshops' for people to enjoy that form of entertainement is better then teenagers experimenting with both at parties. Educate instead of condemn.

I don't really care either way about legalizing marijuana, but the oft-made claim that it's harmless is false.
Taking it raises your heart rate and affects its rhythm, increasing your risk of a heart attack.
It also negatively affects memory and learning, and can have a long term adverse impact on brain function.
It raises your risk of respiratory disease, and has been linked to mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, depression, and anxiety. It's even been linked to an increased risk of testicular cancer.
Before anyone pro-pot posts a laundry list of the ill effects of alcohol and tobacco, I'm well aware of them, and I'm not arguing that marijuana should be illegal. I'm just pointing out that the "pot is harmless" slogan is a myth.

I've never heard people saying it's completely harmless, claims are pretty much always that it's less harmful then alcohol or tobacco. Plus people on marijuana tend to cause a lot less trouble then drunk people. Hence the confusion why one lands you in jail while the other is advertised on tv.
I never understood why education on popular vices was never a part of school. STDs are discussed, but not the short/long term effects of alcohol and other drugs. (Maybe it's different now?) Simply telling teenagers it's bad only makes it more interesting.

The effects of drugs and alcohol were covered extensively at my High School. We studied everything from booze and pot to heroin in our first two years.

Ok so i wont post a list of what alchohal and tobacco and other legal drugs can do to you. I will ask you a question should them drugs be illagal too? and if not then shouldnt drugs that do "No More" harm then them legal drugs also be made legal instead of costing billions a year fighting something that cant be stopped. Putting kids in jail that who knows otherwise might of ended up getting a good job or something but now will never have the chance, putting money into the government instead of taking from it, freeing up them privet owned prisons so the government no longer has to pay them and waste money on them etc etc etc etc??. Have you even thought of the good legalizing something like this would do? cos i have thought of the bad things already and the good are far far ahard of the ba imo on this. |
I can't see outlawing alcohol or tobacco being very effective or beneficial. From a personal point of view, I enjoy a drink now and then, nothing excessive, but I would never touch tobacco (it contributed to my Dad's death) or marijuana. (Last thing I should be doing is playing with even the chance of aggravating my mental state, I have OCD and anxiety) If others want to take that risk, I suppose it's their body, but honestly I don't care enough about it to have an impassioned for or against stance, it's just another thing that doesn't concern me.

What type of thread do you think this is? OT: I was meaning if it were to become legal. What kind of regulations should be put on it? Surely, people can't just run rampant with marijiuana. Even alcohol and prescription drugs have guidlines/regulations. |
Well of course there would be regulations... have to be over 18, can't drive under the influence blah blah. Same as alcohol basically.
