I completely agree with that copy-pasta. Forget about the characters and story DMC is more about gameplay and the new DmC is slow and too easy (even in hard mode), new-Dante's moveset is a step down from DMC4 and getting the SSS in the style meter should be about crazy complex combos not damage, they made it too 'casual'.

That copy-pasta is a gathering of all the legitimate complaints the fans have with this game. We always knew it would receive high scores because most reviewers are casual players and in this day and age where FF13 and Ninja Gaiden 3 both get a 39/40 from famitsu and GTA4 a 10/10 from Gamespot scores are not the golden rule anymore, I'll prefer to believe DMC tournament player Brea when she said "I need DMC5".

BTW: I won't spoil the ending but I'll just say is the most boring and bland thing I seen in a while.

Well this DMC4. This player manages to get an SSS rankning in less than 10 secs.

I understand some players saying the style system is a bit lienent. But DMC is always about maintaing you rankning recieving no damage. This systems contain exploits, like DMC4, where the player reaches an SSS combo in less than 10 seconds with one move.

This is a speed comparasion of DmC and DMC4:

DmC and DMC4 are about the same speed when not running on Turbo Mode.

Whatever the case, I like DmC because in my opinion its an evolution over DMC3 gameplay wise. I think it takes some elements and expands on thsoe elements, like Nero's Devil Arm from DMC4. Theres a lot of other stuff I like as well. I understand that not all the DMC3 moves will be in there. But thats something I can get over, becasue I thought the demo played really well. Dante feels more fluid than before.

Its not just Ninja Theory making this game. Its Capcom who have spent a lot of time collaborating with them with respect to the combat. Based on what I've seen and the videos on youtube. I don't take opinionated articles like that seriously. Because its someone who wouldn't question DMC4 in any respect, despite the fact it was not considered the best DMC game; and that person is not Capcom, who I think know a lot more about how to make DMCs combat. If Capcom didn't you wouldn't see videos like this:

I apprecaite the game is actually easier. But there is a Hell and Hell mode in the game. So enemies have their full health but Dante dies in one hit. To me that seems like a reasonable measure of difficulty for those who want it.

@A203D

To get an SSS in DMC4 like that there's have to be a special situation and you still need the timing to pull it off on the other hand in DmC you just need a couple combos with the axe to get SSS and since time doesn't lower your style is just way too easy.

DmC may look fast but it doesn't play as fast even with few enemies on screen and the enemies don't do nothing in previous DMCs you had to be fast on your feet to avoid them and maintain your style.

Capcom won't criticize its own game. The fans know DMC4 had a lot of backtracking, it was short and had few bosses but gameplay wise it was the best DMC.

Well I watched a walkthrough on Youtube, and I decided to purchase it a lot sooner than I planned. I might even per-order. I am a little worried over the framerate in the PS3 version though. :/ That's the only thing that's keeping me back at this point, but I really liked what I saw in the walkthrough (gameplay and story wise).

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

After reading some user reviews, I'll probably rent this over the summer when I have time or purchase it in the $20-$30 range.....definitely not paying $60 for it.

I never played any of the DMC games so will give this game a shot when it's cheaper.

I've never bought dmc at full price. I won't buy this one at full price either.

It looks pretty neat though. The graphics looked great for 4 on PC, and this one too :).

All that matters is the combat and that 89% review claimed it's no where near as fluid as the original DMC games, so all that praise for the level design seems rather moot. Hopefully the PC version running at 60fps makes the game more fluid as I couldn't tolerate the gameplay in the demo on my PS3, as it felt too slow and disjointed.

Lowest score is 70 and highest is 100 (85meta) so far.

I ended up getting the PS3 version after trying it out the store.
I put close to 2 hours and I can say i agree with the scores so far.
The story is nothing to write home about, but the gameplay is fluid, with lots of combo options
and endless chain possibilities.

Over all i think its a good reboot that you need to try out whether you fan or new to the series.
The graphics are nice and the performance capture and voice acting are top notch (its the dialogue
they needed to work on lol)

It gets a solid 8.5 for me (with 2 hours of gameplay)

I only wish that "Dante Must Die" difficulty was available from the start.

PS3 version performs well with no noticeable frame rate drops or screen tearing.

The demo had lots of technical problems glad to see they fixed it in the final version.
