That´s IMO the great thing about it and probably the reason so many games were sold. Many different franchises that all happen to share Mario as a protagonist^^

Actually, those sales include this:

58 Yoshi NES 1991 Puzzle Nintendo 0.85 0.19 0.91 0.03 1.98

and this title:

82 Yoshi GB 1991 Puzzle Nintendo 0.00 0.00 0.73 0.00 0.73

 

Both of which do not even include Mario at all! Thread = INVALIDATED

Yeah "franchise" isnt good enough to describle Mario, its more a grand media empire that rules over video game land. Suck it Call of Duty!!

Heres a freak stat for you.

Mario has sold more games than Sony has sold LT consoles. Yes Mario total as sold more than PS1,2,3,psp,pspgo,psvita.
