In case you haven't noticed, the countries mentioned here are always at the very top of every standard of living measure and most of the West has gone bankrupt and has incredibly high unemployment rates now.

What other reasons would this be then? Stability, hospitality, low crime rates, opportunity through education and work, these are all, and should be, huge factors when considering where one would like to live.

Incredibly high unemployment and bankrupt ? What kind of messed up, spoiled, entitled, snobbish, high as hell standards does one need to have to think western countries are bankrupt and people are unemployed ??? Try living in an actual 3rd or 2nd world country for few months to see what an actual bankrupcy and unemployment is.

For me personally, culture and peoples attitude matters a lot when considering where one would like to live.I'd rather live in a 2nd world country, surrounded by optimistic,selfless, cheerful people in the culture that i like than in the rich country surrounded by cold, arrogant, entitled, elitist snoobs

In case you didn't know; we're in the midst of the biggest financial crisis since the late 20's/early 30's in the West.

Im sure the 'financial crisis in the west' equals to the everyday situation in any 2nd or 3rd world country...yeah you have it really bad in western Europe and USA

I have worked with refugees from all over the world, most being escapees from war, some being persecuted for having the wrong religious belief or political standpoint, all of them scared and traumatized as well as depressed. A couple of them killed themselves (one woman, which I helped move to the nearest city, setting up a new life for herself and her teenage children jumped out of a window on the fifth floor the first day in the city leaving us two more orphans to care for) and many of them moved me to tears many a time with their tales and courage.

I work with high security psychiatric patients with a cross between drug addiction and substance abuse and psychosis that come from the most grim fates I know of around here and I work with troubled youth in elementary school, trying to give them some confidence and understanding, I come from a family with no education, no money and it has been tormented by a slew of personal tragedies, me and my sister basically raised ourselves for lack of proper parents. I was also beaten by my classmates for many years because of my family's standing in the community and the principal of my high school sabotaged my entire education out of spite and malice.

Since we're sharing tragic stories, my grandpa lost his right hand from NATO bomb in 1999 in front of me, when i was 7 years old.

I also work in the nightlife, I am surrounded by people from all over, Phillipines, Latvia, Poland, Chile, Venezuela, Spain, Germany and other countries and I live with a Serbian man and his girlfriend, I am myself of Gypsy heritage and my bloodline has long suffered in many of those optimistic and selfless cultures I suspect you're referring to (the same cultures have also parttaken in genocide, plundering and terrorism and are certainly no more benign than the West).

No, but i do imagine most of you having absolutely no idea what an actual state crisis is... When it comes to generalization, westerners are the true champions, especially when it comes to Middle Eastern or Balkan peoples

I've always been told that Scandinavian countries are Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and even Iceland.
