Yeah, it's not like you should - you know - try and be the best you can at your job or anything right.

There are new proxy servers each and every day. *TAM* *TAM* *TAAAAAAAAM* |
I try them sometimes, but they usually have issues with content/display + I can't logon usually. I don't spend that much free time at my uni on a PC, so it's no big deal.
Not specifically about this site, but the internet often feels like a giant waste of time to me.

For the last year I've spent 2 hours meditating from 5-7 in the mornings. Right after doing that I can tear apart a math or physics problem - no problem. But when I've spent some time reading up on videogames, my mind is very jumpy and unable to focus. What I've done since (cause I'm too addicted to browsing to stop) is to always have classical/baroque music playing in the background. It's actually helped. I think you're smart enough to push through regardless of this. For some it might be a killer blow, but I'm sure it'll just be an irritation for you. Good luck :) |
You might be on to something. I remember watching a talk on TED about some research into how well heavy multimedia multitaskers (those that do a lot of browsing, using social media, switching tabs, chatting etc.) actually fared worse on cognitive tests than light multimedia multitaskers.
Strangely, (or not if you think about it), those that played action games actually fared better than most.
I don't necessarily see it as a waste of time. Two of my interests are gaming and technology. These two are fairly closely linked and so I like to try to learn as much as I can about these topics. I might not be an expert in these fields but I like to think I've learnt enough from these forums and general browsing to be able to give informed opinions and advice to people (both in real life and on the net)

I'm going to look into that. Thanks.
Yea, but then is it not a waste of time to play video games? They both serve the same purpose in my book.

Well I am already doing a great job! I work for the EU did not saw how happy people are with it the last months? We even received the nobel prize =p. Anyway I am most of the time on an standbye list like now just sitting here...
I view VGC as a waste of time if I get drawn into a discussion with a person I shouldn't even be responding to. I'll probably be less active for awhile since I have to possibly work 68+ hours a week soon. Plus, I want to focus on beating some games that I have in my back catalog before I get any new ones. So I probably won't be posting as much as I was the past few months. That might be considered a good thing for the community.
How do you have so many profile views? You must turn people on.
