For the last year I've spent 2 hours meditating from 5-7 in the mornings. Right after doing that I can tear apart a math or physics problem - no problem. But when I've spent some time reading up on videogames, my mind is very jumpy and unable to focus. What I've done since (cause I'm too addicted to browsing to stop) is to always have classical/baroque music playing in the background. It's actually helped. I think you're smart enough to push through regardless of this. For some it might be a killer blow, but I'm sure it'll just be an irritation for you. Good luck :) |
You might be on to something. I remember watching a talk on TED about some research into how well heavy multimedia multitaskers (those that do a lot of browsing, using social media, switching tabs, chatting etc.) actually fared worse on cognitive tests than light multimedia multitaskers.
Strangely, (or not if you think about it), those that played action games actually fared better than most.
