Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Is Sorry For Wii U Load Times, Is Working On A Fix. Edit: maybe false

Good.

Make sure to toss a universal Overscan fixer in there too, Nintendo!

It is still disappointing and should not have been an issue. Customers in 2012, especially customers using more or less a touch device, expect instantaneous or near instantaneous switch from content to content or menu to menu.

If my phone or my tablet (or Xbox or PS3) did anything even remotely close to the sluggishness of the Wii U menus, I would return it for something else.

took me 17 hours to update my ps3 with every big update. now thats what i call sluggish, I would say the wii u has some flaws but it has some great pros.

no console is perfect

WII U // PC // 3ds XL // VITA

Honestly, it's a deal-breaker for me and I'm very glad Nintendo is actively working on fixing this.

It makes the experience very unenjoyable to me.

just on time!, I am getting mine in about a week or so!!

meh... its all growing pains with an entirely new system and architecture. Wii was crap and they trashed it all. WiiU has an entirely new OS and base infrastructure that is designed to be far more future and expansion friendly. It will get better over time as updates are released. Personally, while it can obviously be improved, its not any different than other consoles at the moment. Its just not what we expect with newer technologies.

i got my vita day 1 and didn't have any of the kind of problems that keep popping up for the wiiU.

I'm starting to think that all those updates will eventually make Basic SKUs useless because they will take the entire internal storage available.
Well, at least you can use extra storage via USB, but still...

Gah!  Updates are overwriting existing system files, not accumulating in size...just like every other OS on the planet.  Right now the Basic SKU has about 3GB of storage available for downloads.  I'll bet that Nintendo reserved 5GB in advance and isn't using all of it, so it has room for critical updates and a little bit of growth without impinging on user space.

You lucky one >.>

Nintendo and PC gamer

To tell you the truth, since the second update I haven't had to wait more than 5-7 seconds for apps (I haven't used wii u chat yet though).

I started making videos for youtube; check them out.

You should congratulate me. I destroyed the vile red falcon and saved the universe. I consider myself a hero.

Is it me or does this not make any sense at all. How could this possibly be a problem in this day and age. This should be virtually instantaneous. Can someone explain to me how this isn't as heinous as it sounds. I am not being mean, or sarcastic about this. I just want to understand how this could happen, and why people aren't upset. I would find it infuriating if I had to load any time I wanted to do the most basic of things on my console.
