PSV |
Wii U |
| Week 1 |
322 k |
306 k |
| Week 2 |
74 k |
126 k |
| Week 3 |
41 k |

And the Wii U looks in much better shape with 3 games in the top 20 and selling quite well. In comparison, the PSV had none in the top 30 in its second week which highlights its problems really. Personally I see the Wii U having a massive 3rd week, and widen the gap with the PSV. I think 200k+ is a possibility with its solid launch titles. Its second week is > than the Wii's second and third btw, so that's a definitely good sign for it in Japan

Thanks a lot, I saw this week numbers and the Wii U is holding out very good, not improving but at least not going down. At this rate it should pass he PSVita very fast and get a good advantage against the competitors when they launch their consoles next year (maybe)

Don't forget, the Wii U already has had a couple of big titles that will sell well and consistently with time (NSMB, MH, NL) unlike the Vita which has a few decent sellers but no big one. It's easy to see that 2013 will be a better year for the Wii U than the Vita's first year.
That said, I think Nintendo will be willing to replicate the Wii's first couple of years, and make it sustain instead of dwindling especially from what we've seen in Japan. However, with already big titles released, and couple that with Pikmin, Wii Fit U, and other unannounced titles, Wii U will sell decently in 2013. I expect 2 million at least. Of course it all depends on releasing a consistent lineup which Nintendo are having trouble of late
