Japanese people make no sense, they buy a DS when the 3DS is out so its not a surprise to see PSP selling better than the Vita.

 

It could also be the reason the PSP has always been pushed as a Japanese system while the Vita is mostly targeting Western audiences (i.e. AC3L, CoD, etc). Uncharted as launch title in Japan really? l0l.

Plus the PSP is cheaper and the Vita doesnt support all of the games in its PSP Catalog yet.


The one who is not making any sense is you.  DS in Japan is selling a lot less than in other regions since 3DS launched. Just go to the homepage and you will see how much it sold in Japan compared to the other regions. The reason people in Japan buy PSP instead of the Vita is because the developers there are still making a lot more games for it compared to the vita.


I was talking about before like in the first year of the 3DS , not about the current sales - maybe you should of taken another look at my post (and the chartz) before attempting to  insult me and yes I know developers are jumping on the PSP because like I said its a cheaper system and its more popular with the Japanese than the Vita is which is mostly mainly targeting the western demographic with its game library.

Edit: The sales for the NDS didnt drop completely until this year - while it sold well despite sales going down throughout the first year of the 3DS which is amazing since you can b/c with the 3DS. It makes no sense to buy a NDS when you can b/c with the 3DS or even emulate the NDS games at this point on even a old PC.

There's a reason people were getting banned for bringing up the RROD. Sure it was true, but was used mostly to troll the 360. Same as people calling Wii games kiddy etc. VGKing can report them and if the mods think that it's trolling, they'll moderate the posts.

Think of it this way. Say a Ninty PR dude says that 3rd party games for WiiU may not be doing well at the moment, but we should wait and see their perfomance after March, when a certain number of AAA games are expected to do well. Then they still do bad and Sony fans start a joke: "well, still waiting for those AAA games". "Wait, did they mean this March or next? looool!"

Would that be funny? I guess some people would see it as a joke and others as trolling/flaming. Not saying that either group is right.

It's the holyday season. And Japan only has two home consoles (and we all know that, come on...). Plus, Wii U had shortages.

To be honest, the whole Vita disaster in japan IS kind of funny and sad equally. If the Wii U ends up as the Vita some jokes woud be good to, but at the moment ths seems to be unlikely.

In the year 2011

235 for the NDS
106 for the 3DS

In the year 2012

21 for the NDS
360 for the 3DS


I forgot the fact that the 3DS came out in 2011 (thought it was in 2010 l0l) but my original comment still stands though, its amazing that the NDS sold 235 over the 3DS but I guess it was because the Japanese realized that $250 or the equivalent in Yen was too much and the lack of Mario...if only the people here realized that instead of justifying the ambassador program for the $80 price cut l0l.

That was for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2011, which consisted of a years worth of sales for DS, and only one month for 3DS.

Edit: In shipments, that is.

Your comment does not stand at all. So Japanese people do make sense. Much more than the rest of us because while the 3DS is out with backwards compatibility (!) people here still buy the DS in the thousands. Also the 106 figure for the 3DS in Japan (means 1.06 million) was for a single month because their FY ends in March 31 and 3DS released in Feb 26 in Japan so FY2011 would be from April 1st 2010 to March 31st 2011.

VGKing can report them and if the mods think that it's trolling, they'll moderate the posts.

So report people for stuff you don't like and if the mods agree then you win that little battle and can feel a little better.

Got it.

Therefore, I'm reporting people for NOT saying that the Wii U is doing good and I'll let the mods sort it out.

Just kidding, I won't. I will be "man enough" to let people say what they want and won't take it personally if I don't agree (because...ya know, I'm an adult).
