No.

Well that's my answer, Vita might be selling slower then PSP.....a lot slower (under 4 million in its first year vs. 9.6 million for the PSP), but that doesn't mean this system will turn out to be a flop. I was taking a look at my PSP and PS3 games, and I noticed that on both these platforms, most "good" games didn't come out until 2-3 years after release.

PSP did have Twisted Metal, Killzone, Breath of Fire 3 and GTA in the first couple years, but nothing spectacular (BoF is spectacular, but a port). It wasn't until 2007/2008 that I think the PSP library began to become unigue with games like Crisis Core, Jeanne D'Arc, and Star Ocean: First Departure released.

PS3 followed the same pattern, Uncharted 1 released in 2007, Valkyria Chronicles and Disgaea 3 didn't release until 2008, Killzone 2 InFamous, etc.

After all PS3 started selling a lot slower then PS1 and PS2, but isn't it still an amazing console? While I would argue it's nowhere nearly as good as the PS1 and PS2 before it, PS3 is still probably the best console this gen.

So even if PSV fails to sell as well a PSP, it could still get a few great exclusives. I wouldn't worry about the system, but I'd still give it a couple years to aquire sore really amazing unique PSV titles (no PS3 downgrades, or non main series console spinoffs).

Already PSP has Disgaea 3, Persona 4, and Uncharted. More will come.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

This is like beating on a dead horse, but yes the Vita is in dire trouble. There are few games coming out for it next year and it looks to have lost all third party support. On the bright side, Liberations performance gives it some hope.

Biggest problem though: Hardly any worthwhile games from a non-sony fan perspective.

If i were to buy one, and i have considered this today aswell as my PSP seems broken beyond repair... there are zero games i'd want to get. Ys 4 remake would be the only one i'd want, or the tales games, but none of them appear to be coming over. I'm not a huge fan of Assassins creed so that definitly doesnt make me take the plunge. Uncharted is more appealing, but nothing i'd buy a console for.
Its really dificult atm to find a reason to buy a Vita. Not withstanding that its a risky purchase.

The Japanese market is flocking to the 3DS. Short answer: No Monster Hunter, No Dragon Quest, No Pokemon = Vita dead.

i'm not worried, just on guard. Vita has its work cut out for it. a price cut to $179-$199 would do wonders for Vita's sales, but it would take something big, unique, and innovative to beat the 3ds.

lots and lots of jrpg's.

I think the Vita is in a little bit of trouble right now. Its a great system will a lot of awesome games but the market is not accepting it. Hopefully PSN+ will help it out next year.

And it doesn't help that a lot of Sony loyalist on this site doesn't even own one.

If sony fans dont see it as a worry.. then there is nothing to worry about!..

just forget about the 3DS was doomed to hell.. at the same point in its life time yet was selling more than the vita... in other words only Nintendo systems can ever have that claim.. but not the vita.. we've been told this numerous times by sony fans!.

Depends. In the grand scheme of things I'm very worried about it but as an owner I'm not at all.

It is an awesome system with awesome games. Discontinued in 2 years or not I'll still be having a blast with the console.

Can we get more YES/NO options in this poll...? Four yes's and four no's its simply not enough.

Dont know why nintendo fans keep making the same dumb comparsion.  What handheld (outside the early psp) sold more than a nintendo handheld at any given point?  Lifetime sales of DS is 150m+,  lifetime sales of PSP 75m+ so you are talking 2 to 1 and thats from the best non nintendo handheld.  So why do you think, even at the same price point, a sony handheld would have sold more.  At best it can be competetive, which the vita will be once it receives a decent price and game support.

But hey, dont let your Sony hate keep you from thinking rationally!
