23 people voting for "Slow start"...that's probably the longest start in gaming history.

OT: I believe the Vita will be fine in Japan as long as the system gets some big tittles (they most have at least have one Monster Hunter game), but outside of Japan the system will struggle a lot, it's pretty clear that most people don't want a dedicated gaming system on the go, either being a console experience like Uncharted or a quick run in Mario Kart 7. Handhelds are "dying" in the west there's no question about that, even Nintendo ("the king" of handhelds) is struggling in doing so, it will manage to stay alive thanks to their first party games and some other major third party game, but overall it will have some difficulties.

If Sony gives it a price cut and it still doesn't sell, then I will be worried.

PSVita is a bizarre case. Its sales are at red alert levels in Japan but it still gets quite some major games there : One Piece Pirate Warriors 2, Legend of Heroes, God Eater 2, Senran Kagura, Jump VS, Tales of Hearts, etc. which makes my Vita schedule way busier than my 3DS schedule.

On the other hand, it has very few titles hitting the west next year despite the boost it is getting from the holidays.

Overall, I can't shake that feeling it IS in danger somehow even though imo it is set to have a far better library than 3DS.

I dont think there is even a comparison to be had. The 3DS library is far more enticing, i think theres no denieing that. I mean... RE revelations, KH3D, Tales of the abyss, Fire emblem, DQ7 remake, MH4, next zelda, next pokemon, Ace attourney 5, AAvsLayton... its not even comparable. Vita only has very alternative titles like gravity rush, Ragnarok odyssey and Persona 4.

But i guess it all goes to your personal taste. Hey at least theres PSO2 (though its a scaled down version of the PC game).

I was talking of 2013 and beyond. 2012 was more a 3DS year imho with Liberation Maiden, Fire Emblem and Layton vs AA. (even though Gravity Daze and Project Diva f alone made Vita quite exciting for its launch year).

There is no Uncharted on PSP. What are you talking about OP?

Because its true. Did you forget the 3DS also had a very slow start until its price cut?

Sony hasn't cut the price yet, so it may be too early to tell.

However, if Sony doesn't do something to increase hardware sells, then there is going to be a huge drought of software for the system. Games are the lifeblood of a game system, if new games are coming out, there will be less incentive to buy it.

No the only thing the vita is doing wrong is that it needs to have more kiddie games like the 3ds has.

No, worrying about the Vita is Sony's job.

When folks have to prop the Vita up by taking shots at the 3DS, you know there's not a lot of real hope.

The 3DS "start" wasn't as long as this one. the price cut was less than 6 months after the 3DS launch, and after that the sales got a massive boost. It's been one year since the Vita launch in Japan, so this "start" have lasted one whole year in Japan.
