To be honest it is possible that Mass Effect lead to this shooting spree. A great many people went nuts over how the series ended. I admit that I wanted to shoot someone over that bullshit, but it wasn't children. Of coarse I am level headed enough to realize the only right response is to show my displeasure by not buying that companies games in the future.

As for mass shootings. I think Michael Moore did a excellent job of rooting out the real culprit in his documentary Bowling for Columbine. It wasn't the guns, movies, music, or games. The real problem is a culture of fear. From the cradle to the grave. Americans are barraged with a never ending stream of fear mongering. Fear damages us all, but some are sensitive enough that they break under the pressure. They become hopeless, paranoid, and even aggressive in response to the very real attack they are under.

The ones who are guilty are the ones who are going to profit off this the most. The media that intentionally tries to scare you so that they get your undivided attention. While they try to sell you things that also play on all of your worst fears. You want to see gun violence go down in this country in a significant way. Start boycotting the news networks, and the advertisers that support them. A few hundred thousand less scare stories. Just might have the effect of mellowing us all out.

Yes the real problem is that people think the world is going to hell in a hand basket, and in their despondency they are likely to lash out. At a unfair world that seems to persecute them in particular. We need to stop fabricating big bad boogeymen, and instead start offering up helping hands. The media perpetuates a story line that generates a mild hysteria, and then they act shocked when it pushes some off the edge. I say act, because I am pretty sure that their tears are purely crocodile in nature, and they are getting what they want. Some more sinister scarey ass shit to keep you locked in while they sell you some conditioner, because god knows you need it you unattractive fucking pig.

it is moments and people like this makes me wish the world just effing end and everyone dies a sloy and very painfull death

You can't argue with good hollow point ammo, that's for sure, if somebody comes in my house without my permission with a weapon in hand, you can bet I'd much prefer a 9mm or a 45ACP over any hunting rifle or a shotgun, and I'll always have Russian ammo with steel core ready for assholes wearing body armors and try to fuck with me, the key is still self defense. There are too many dumb fucks not taught right and that's still a parenting issue.

A lot of people can get guns anywhere in the world even if they are banned, the police a lot of times end up surplusing the guns unless they are not street legal for their funding and they usually go to the right people who don't fuck around with it, there are definitely laws involved on full automatic weapons that are made after 1986 so those either get destroyed or some corrupted fuckers will make sure they go into the black market again anyways. Guns are the new bows and arrows of the old days, people need to deal with it.

Those people can not legally own firearms unless they do it illegally, which once again, is not the fault of legit sellers and buyers who treat them right but either their own fault or their dumb ass fucking parents. You can get guns in other ways even in countries that have guns entirely banned, and people will still kill people without guns or bullets. I can not stress enough about how fucked up parenting can be in the US these days, the old old American way is much better in my book and I'm not even old, the current way is a fucking joke with no discipline or know how, and a lot of parents like to blame other things because it is NEVER their fault.

Seriously, what job do you have to be that paranoid?! Unless you work for the CIA or something, that's just over the top. Surely a 9mm is more than enough for self-defence?

OT: Apparently, Morgan Freeman had this to say:

"You want to know why. This may sound cynical, but here's why.

It's because of the way the media reports it. Flip on the news and watch how we treat the Batman theater shooter and the Oregon mall shooter like celebrities. Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris are household names, but do you know the name of a single *victim* of Columbine? Disturbed
people who would otherwise just off themselves in their basements see the news and want to top it by doing something worse, and going out in a memorable way. Why a grade school? Why children? Because he'll be remembered as a horrible monster, instead of a sad nobody.

CNN's article says that if the body count "holds up", this will rank as the second deadliest shooting behind Virginia Tech, as if statistics somehow make one shooting worse than another. Then they post a video interview of third-graders for all the details of what they saw and heard while the shootings were happening. Fox News has plastered the killer's face on all their reports for hours. Any articles or news stories yet that focus on the victims and ignore the killer's identity? None that I've seen yet. Because they don't sell. So congratulations, sensationalist media, you've just lit the fire for someone to top this and knock off a day care center or a maternity ward next.

You can help by forgetting you ever read this man's name, and remembering the name of at least one victim. You can help by donating to mental health research instead of pointing to gun control as the problem. You can help by turning off the news."
Makes sense to me, far more than that trash.
Extra question to the Americans on this site: How is mental health dealt with in the US? Before Obama-care, if you didn't have insurance or mental health wasn't covered, how would mental health problems be diagnosed?

100% of people who have committed homicides in the last 2,000 years have also been drinkers of water.

Water is causing our minds to become sick places and turn us into bloodthirsty freaks! BAN WATER!

So wait, not only did they attribute the killing to a video game, they attributed it to a video game liked by somebody with no connection whatsoever to the killer?
