of course it was a respected game, and it still is. Far as I've seen the only person calling its quality into question in any way is Kyliedog, and I'd take a wild guess that his opinion is not based on the Wii U announcement. He dislikes lots of otherwise great things, he's kind of like machina in that way.
This is just another one of those arguments where someone tries to argue that a group is being hypocritical, but in reality only individuals can be hypocrits.

To get you interested in its sequel (you'll end up getting a Wii U...), the guys that worked in the first DMC (and didn't make any other DMC game) made Bayonetta.

well it's a niche game really i'd say,i probably got side tracked by something else but its not my usual type of game although i'll give anything a play,i did enjoy what i played, about half, the PS3 bayonetta got bashed if i remember correctly for this and that,i'd expect bayonetta to look pretty damn good and be kind of crazy,it's linear action fighting with bosses & collectables and a bar to shop & upgrade in,well it was

You know, Vampire Hunter would be an awesome game to have, It would be really nice to see another one for sure!

flattery will get you nowhere.

Hypocrisy is a contagious thing, my dear Torillian. I have honestly never heard as much negative surrounding the prospect of a Bayo sequel than with this whole U thing. It's an observation, not a fact, so I'm just throwing it out there.
Having said that, I respect you giving the benefit of the doubt. It's something I'm still working on.
@Marcus. Flattery never was my forte.

I don't view it as being about "benefit of the doubt" I view it as being about proof. You cannot prove a group to be hypocritical because they are not a hivemind. You can prove an individual to be a hypocrite if you find two contradictory statements from the same person, this doesn't work for a group.

Could you correlate, if a few members of a group post the same negativity of something, couldn't you say that there is a form of bias due to either jealousy or conflict of interest? It's a known fact that certain gamers get jealous when what was exclusive against a console becomes exclusive to a console. The reason? Well, fanboyism. We've seen it happen before. Not that it's a bad thing, some people just want their platform of choice to outperform another so they can have a better ecosystem, nothing to go to jail about.
I'm not saying that's what's happening here, I'm just saying my reasoning isn't far-fatched. Though they aren't a hive-mind, they may have common interests that conflict with an event, causing their sentiments to match.
Ok, then let me try...
A good game with decent sales but not huge so Nintendo can afford the exclusivity
Persona 5 comes to mind, great reviews decent but not great sales and not very Hardware demanding
Soulcalibur VI, last edition sold less than a million copies and it has brand recognition
No More Heroes 3, the first 2 came to the Wii so a third one is a no brainer this time in HD
