Don't you think that comparison is a bit off? You're discussing the sales of two consoles, bringing Hitler into the game really isn't necessary.

Well, if he's saying he is like Hitler when he said the war is not lost, then his comparison works.  The PS2 will most likely outship the DS this year, which when dealing with consoles that are this old and have low demand is almost like sell-through to customer.  Max each one would have on shelves is ~500K, most likely lower, though.  Next year, the max DS could do is tie the PS2.  And the following year, either the DS will be discontinued or they both will, I'm guessing the latter.  Basically, the PS2 will remain the #1 selling console of all time, even if t hurts some people to admit it.


I didn't say that his comparison doesn't work, but it seems as a German I tend to be sensitive about anythin 3rd reich related, 12 years of indoctrination have taken their toll :D

You really belive some source that does not even post exact PS2 numbers but you do not even want to inform yourself on the phone?? For me that sounds like you are afraid that i am right!

You're source is supposedly some guy you spoke to on the phone that is just a phone monkey support person for Sony for only one region of world vs my source which is actual hard sales data released by Sony the ENTIRE company themselves. You are a joke if you think your 'source' of information is better than mine.

On top of that you keep posting the wrong PS2 numbers. It is a FACT that in the January-March 2012 quarter the PS2 shipped 600,000 bring the total to 155 million. And it is also a FACT that in the April-June quarter Sony announced that the PS3 was down year on year compared to last years quarter meaning that during the April-June quarter the MINIMIUM the PS2 could have shipped is another 1 MILLION bring the total o 156 MILLION. This is not an opinion, it's not up for debate it's the pure FACTS wether you like them or not.

It's so sad how much denial you are in, you can't take the truth.

It is so sad that you do not realise that your information is off! Nearly nobody takes so much care about PS2 numbers than vgchartz. Why should i belive the PS2 is still in production if EVERYBODY (shops, sonystores, support, gamestop, etc...) is telling me that it is official the PS2 is done? You think these all people are "phone monkeys"? Wasn´t there a threat that put psone at 120 million?? What happened? WAY OFF!

Vgchartz PS2 numbers are wrong and out of date and the owner of Vgchartz has said so himself, stop saying otherwise you are wrong.

Everybody doesn't say the PS2 is out of production, only your word that you rang some people WHO KNOW LESS THAN SONY THEMSELVES because SONY still ship the PS2 each quarter so yet again you are wrong.

Sony used to list consoles produced many years ago on their financial reports but since then they now only show consoles shipped in their financial reports which is why their was once a difference, this in no way proves you right at all in the slightest, and the fact that you some how think this is evidence that the PS2 is no longer produced is beyond stupid.

Why don't you go do something useful with your life like learn how to accept when you are wrong. Be happy that if you don't post BS in threads anymore you're making the world a better place, be happy Christmas is coming.

The facts are the last time Sony listed production figures on their fiscal reports was nearly 10 years ago, since then they only list shipment figures, yet again you have no point, yet again you are wrong and your ignorance has been proved once more by you trying to use wikipedia, one of the worst sources of data on the internet because if can edited by ANYBODY to say ANYTHING, as proof. Hahaha it's so funny.
