Forums - Nintendo - German Law to Blame For 18+ Rated Wii U Content Block In Europe

Ok, there has to be something strange with the eShop. I can't watch a Zombie U video on the Wii U eShop because of the rating but I can watch the Zombie U multiplayer video that you can find on the Wii's Nintendo Channel, and that one is rated 18 as well.

Small question : Does Sony or Microsoft empty their German PSN/XBLive when the sun rises?

idk but iirc sony doesnt even offer games with the rating of usk18 in the store so no need to empty their stores. (might have changed)
ms does offer usk18 titles 24/7 the whole year.

PSN does something.  I forget what it is.  I'll see if I can track it down again.

OK,, found it.  At first PSN blocked ALL 18 rated games in Germany.  They didn't even allow demos for 16 rated titles.   The way they got around it is by restricting sales to their PS+ users which require a PSN Wallet which proves your age.

I do know that EA Origin is blocked to the same time period that Nintendo is for 18 rated games.    So this is not just a Nintendo thing.

it should be that way, but i can remember when psn+ members in eu got infamous as game, while germans didnt get it (usk 18).

the whole first year i didnt get any usk18 title as psn+ member, so i canceled it :(

Tell that to EA and their Origin platform.

Or Sony and PSN.

Are usk18 ratings frequent? (because virtually every "mature" game is PEGI 18 now)

You should take a look at barozis post, he explained it pretty nicely.

you can say 90%+ of pegi 18 and mature games (violence) should also be usk18

http://www.usk.de/en/search-for-title/
just change the slider to 18 only and you can see all games

I saw on amazon.de that Black Ops 2 is usk18, and AC3 is usk16. Does that mean you can buy AC3 DLCs and not Black Ops DLCs?
