3DS XL has just released a Pikachu edition. I also have the Legend of Zelda limited edition 3DS. These points alone mean that 3DS is ten times more awesome than the Vita.

I actually LOL'ed......

OT: It depends on your age and interests. If you like Pokemon, mario..etc then get a 3DS.
If you prefer more Western games then get a Vita.

I'm not picking on VGKing -- just using his post as a springboard -- and I apologize for being off-topic, but what is with this weird dichotomy of "Eastern" versus "Western" games? If a game is great, it's great.

I guess the philosophy is different, but sometimes there's not really a big difference.

I feel the 3DS has a vastly superior archive of games available for it, compare to current Vita.

The 3DS is able to play last gen games on it. Vita can't play its UMD's.

and lastly there are still Nintendo's golden games that are still to come, such as Zelda and Pokemon.

Thus my vote goes to 3DS.

All in all I think that getting both consoles would be perfect and that's what I'm gonna do eventually. I'm just going to wait for the inevitable price cut and possibly a redesign of the 3DS. I think that right now there aren't that many games on it, that I'd be willing to shell out money on, but if they release a new Zelda, things can start to look better for the console. Cause right now I'm much more excited about Uncharted or Gravity Rush, then yet another Mario... I mean, I still haven't finished all my DS and Wii Marios... Apart from RE:R there are almost no games I'm interested in and I hope that this one hits Vita in 2013 anyway.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Maybe if you really like Mario (for the most part). Otherwise there's no way you could look at games like Monster Hunter 3G/4, Bravely Default, Shin Megami Tensei IV, RE Revelations, Soul Hackers, DQ VII, Kingdom Hearts 3D, Taled of the Abyss, Devil Survivor Overclocked, etc. and say the only games worth getting are Nintendo. If you don't know the lineup that's OK but this is very ignorant otherwise. It's like saying people only buy Vitas to play Sony games like Uncharted and Gravity Rush because they're some of the most popular games on the system.

Right, but there are also some decent 3rd party titles on Vita as well as PSone classics and PSP games to keep you going

The Nintendo games is the main defining factor in determining PSV vs 3DS, otherwise do you want me to go on metacritic and here and look up all the top games and see whether the OP likes those precise games

Currently, there are WAY more games on 3DS, and the games are WAY better. For the graphics argument, games like Resident Evil Revelation and Kid Icarus in 3D mode look significantly better than any game on Vita. In addition, the 3DS has a future extending beyond 2013, something that is not necessarily a certainty for the PSP Vita.

This should be a no brainer: the logical choice is 3DS

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Vita is a far better system, 3DS has a better lineup. Both are pretty great so you can't go wrong either way.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Please, let's keep this thread seriously. These games look worse than Uncharted and bear in mind that Uncharted was a launch title, while these 2 titles were released a year after 3DS hit the market. So pretty much they should be compared to what Soul Sacrifise and Killzone show us. But still, Uncharted already is superior, search comparisons on youtube if you doubt it.

If you have the money get both. You can't go wrong that way.

Gotta give to nod to the Vita and here are my reasons.

Bigger and better screen.
Dual analog > Single analog (Circle Pad)
3DS games can also be found on iPhone, so just get an iPhone.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Not really. Nintendo games are a defining reason to get a 3DS over the Vita but not the only reason. Any of those games I listed are worthwhile reasons to get a 3DS over the Vita. I mean why do you think the 3DS is exploding while the Vita is not in Japan? And I'm ignoring the TC's preferences in this case btw.

Japan is not the whole world

I was just simplifying the arguement, but you should surely agree that the Nintendo games are the most important facctor for most people getting a 3DS
