Forums - Nintendo - So uh, no MGSV, Dark Souls II, BioShock Infinite, MG Rising, GTAV, etc. for Wii U ...

So tell me soundwave. Where are your sources to say these aren't on wii u? Bioshock yes. The rest are up in the air. Also third parties are treating wii u no different to any other system.

Did you forget what shoddy third party support 360 had before ps3 didn't take off? Or what horrible third party support vita currently has? If you seriously believe the next xbox or ps4 are going to look different you are fooling yourself.

Let me talk about rpgs.

For what it's worth, I do want to see the the WiiU becoming an rpg powerhouse, making effecetive use of the controller. I want to see PS3/4 & WiiU multiplat titles cause i do think that could help the genre flourish. Bringing the DS dual screen experience to consoles is a great move.

On the other hand, Microsoft snatching lots of titles for the 360 at the beginning of this gen (me too syndrome) was not only a failed endevour sales wise but as a gamer I feel like it was a a huge step backwards for the genre for two major reasons you can see in every single one of the rpgs released for the 360:
1) simplified / action gaming
2) dramatic drop of the games' challenge and difficulty

In other words I would absolutely welcome third party rpgs like Dark Souls II, Lighting Returns even Ni no Kuni on the WiiU.

I'm sorry, what? If you don't like the RPGs on the Xbox 360 then I assure you that the Wii U ones will not be your cup of tea either. Because there are a lot of people who believe that Wii U represents casual gamers who will 'need' a simplified gaming experience, else you'll get 360 ports.

Uh ... yes, I expect the PS4/720 to have better third party support than one Zombi game and a Rayman title as the two notable games made for the system, and yes I expect PS4/720 to get the next entries in most big franchises.

I think you'd be fooling yourself actually to expect otherwise.

The XBox 360 has had tons of third party support from day 1, it sure as heck was not Perfect Dark that sold that machine until Halo 3 arrived.

Wii U has Bayonetta 2 though.

Then you are getting your hopes up too high. If you look back at 360 you'll see the only third party games that came out between launch day and april 1st that had true effort put into them was call of duty and dead or alive. Pop some of the launch titles back in your 360 today and you'll see that from a technical standpoint the ports on wii u run better. The difference is 360 had better graphics. It doesn't mean they were better technically. Nothing matched the gameplay quality of mass effect 3 on 360 by ea. It had the same rushed sports games that wii u currently has. Capcom had nothing out for 360 by the end of the launch window. Monster hunter is even out day 1 in japan.

You need to look at things more realistically. Jumping on board two systems with more power and not even knowing how they will sell is a bigger risk then porting to wii u. There will still be games in development for ps3 and 360 long after the others and any one of those can get on wii u. Devil's third, tekken x street fighter, doom 4, destiny and that insomniac game are all being built with current gen hardware in mind. What developers are on board these new systems? Do they trust playstation after two sluggish launches? Are they daring enough to make new engines and raise development costs without knowing if they will prove successful? Or are they likely to take the cheap way out and port upwards?

That's great for the PS3/360 that they'll still be supported. Doesn't help the Wii U much if it doesn't have versions being made concurrently with the 360/PS3 versions.

Take a wild guess how a Wii U version of BioShock Infinite will sell with a version that comes out 6-12 months later. The Wii U is already handicapped by its lower userbase compared to those platforms, working on Wii U versions of games after the PS3/360 versions are done is just a recipe for disaster.

The bolded can be used for the others as well. They have absolutely nobody buying games on them right now. The install base for wii u will have gotten bigger by the time they come out. And you can hardly use bioshock as an example since it is a given games will sell lower as they release later. Porting to systems you don't even know will sell is as much a 'recipe for disaster' as it is with wii u.

Iwata said they are making sure it isn't being excluded from multiplatform development right now. The problem there was power. Now they have rectified the main reason they will see a lot more multiplats anyway. Most ps3 and 360 games in 2014 will probably get there.

There is absolutely no chance wii u will lose third party support like wii did. Nintendo are even publishing the games themselves to make sure they get on there. So I don't know what you are implying here.

I am not surprised at all. I see Wii U as an in between-console, not getting the multiplats with ps360 and later missing the multiplats on PS4/720.

If Wii U will sell like I expect it to sell and those next gen consoles sell as everyone expects them to sell, it is obvious that the safer bet is to jump aboard ps4/720. Also, Wii U games should be buying those 3rd party games instead of mario. If there is no sales for games like cod/me, wii u will not attract that many 3rd parties.
