That's great for the PS3/360 that they'll still be supported. Doesn't help the Wii U much if it doesn't have versions being made concurrently with the 360/PS3 versions. Take a wild guess how a Wii U version of BioShock Infinite will sell with a version that comes out 6-12 months later. The Wii U is already handicapped by its lower userbase compared to those platforms, working on Wii U versions of games after the PS3/360 versions are done is just a recipe for disaster. |
The bolded can be used for the others as well. They have absolutely nobody buying games on them right now. The install base for wii u will have gotten bigger by the time they come out. And you can hardly use bioshock as an example since it is a given games will sell lower as they release later. Porting to systems you don't even know will sell is as much a 'recipe for disaster' as it is with wii u.
Iwata said they are making sure it isn't being excluded from multiplatform development right now. The problem there was power. Now they have rectified the main reason they will see a lot more multiplats anyway. Most ps3 and 360 games in 2014 will probably get there.
There is absolutely no chance wii u will lose third party support like wii did. Nintendo are even publishing the games themselves to make sure they get on there. So I don't know what you are implying here.
One more thing to complete my year = senran kagura localization =D
