Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo plans to maintain momentum “for the duration of Wii U”

I'm looking at the numbers for the FIRST time in 2 weeks, because I've been busy living my life lol.

Ummm.... 300k? That's it?

I get that it has yet to release in Japan but look at the current numbers.. ITS LAUNCH and the wiiu is already trailing lol...

Anyone have ANYTHING to say? I'm not sure what I think about this. It's fail right, it looks like fail.

First mention in Article: "For the Duration of Wii U"

Second mention in Article: "Through the year (2013)"

I don't know who said that.  I didn't.  I don't know why you would quote me with that part of your response.

Also, I expect the Wii U to do a lot better than PS3 launch aligned.

I don't know what your deal is here, etho.

I just quoted you because you are the first guy here to say the Wii U didn't have a good launch lineup and I agree with you.

The other part I really thing the release price is high for a Nintendo console but that's just a factor.

The problem with Wii U launch is there are just too many ports of games that came out on PS360 already. No coincidence Zombi U is the second best selling title.

Nintendo really needs to come with it in 2013. And I think they need something huge for next Xmas.

Maybe, but a lot of the those port people like me haven't played and are looking forward to buying over the coming months. For example, Ninja Gaiden 3, which with all the improvements and DLC, is clearly the better version. I also want to play Darksiders 3. So year they go ports, but people like me are still buying them.

Nintendo will bring the goods for Christmas 2013, believe it

Same here, I agree.  Although the ports make the line up look unattractive to people who already own PS360, I'm glad these games are on Wii U and I'm really enjoying Darksiders II.  I just think a few more exclusive core offerings in addition to ZombiU and NSMBU would've went a long way.  Imagine if we got Pikmin 3 and MoHun Ultimate at launch.  Geez.

longivity my friend, longevity. Nintendo I think has the year of releases already stretegically planned out. I expect that games like Pikmin 3 and MH will be released during months when there is a drought in gaming. Take 2012 for 3DS for example, when during during the summer months we were on a gaming drought, I believe only Nintendo 3DS was making money with releases like, 05/20 Mario Tennis Open, 06/05 Rayman Origins, 06/19 Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, 07/03 Therhythm Final Fantasy, 07/31 Kindgom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, 08/19 New Super Mario Bros. 2.

I could only hope that Nintendo follows the same strategic games release plan for the Wii U as I appears IMO to have for the 3DS.

I didn't say it didn't have a good launch.  It's relative.  To a PS360 owner, it's lacking as a good deal of games are ports of those you've already played.  To a person who hasn't played those games, it might well be a fabulous launch line up.  It's all relative man.  If you think about it from the viewpoint of the latter, you might think so too.

B b b u t the Wii U didn't have the best launch lineup ever???

OP. I think the price is a factor... Nintendo owner aren't accustomed to spending a lot on their consoles (over $300)... the PS3 suffered the same at the beginning even having more success in the launching than Wii U.

Seem like PS360 owners (PS3 mainly)  are more accustomed to pay more in their consoles.

Or I'm just spelling crap from my mouth???

The latter - that's just crap you're talking. In any event, PS4 or 720 numbers wouldn't look any better or approach Wii numbers either.

All the nintendo fans trying to downlplay the sales lol...

Next gen was supposed to be a breath of life for the "lagging" gaming industry. I don't think 300k during the holiday sales boom, trailing behind it's last gen competitiors, and whatever else is wrong with the console hardware is really doing nintendo or wiiu any favors.

Nintendomination begins in 2018, just wait, it has potential. PS3 fans know what I'm talking about,

I'm pretty sure the PS3 trailed behind the PS2 when it first launched for a good period.  You clearly have an agenda and I'm glad no one has given you the time of day yet.  But you'd do well to stop trying to instigate things.

ok, so now get that info out to the masses. PUT OUT COMMERCIALS, OPRAH, TALK SHOWS, RETAIL WEEKLY ADS, etc. I don't see any of that right now as compared to how much Wii received.
