Not if Jesus returns!

we are going start counting new then, right?

damn! You're right! and wouldn't that be like... year 0!?

It actually wouldn't, if the current model would restart. One year after 1 B.C is the year 1 A.D.

Fucked up, I know :P

I want my year 0!! I'm not born 1 years old; I have to muthafuckin yearn dat shit! No calender should start on 1!!! fakeRAAAAAGE!!!!

not if you count January as the 13th month.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

I'd 'only' have to be 107 to see that. To say that life expectancy has increased a good 15-20 years in the past 100 or so years, it's not that infeasible at least one of us will hit that age.

And 20:12 20/12 2012 is more interesting anyway, again something we won't see for a very long time.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Interestingly enough there was one man reported to have lived for over one hundred and fifty years. It obviously isn't verified, because he predated verification by five hundred years. There may actually have been a lot of people that lived as long or even longer. We just don't know about them, because historically speaking record keeping was extremely poor, and people didn't celebrate extreme old age as we do now. That isn't to say they were common, but even if they were the majority of people wouldn't know about them.

When someone is living outside of the time frame everyone else lives in. They just become forgotten. When the average life expectancy is forty. Anyone living past a hundred is outliving the living memory of their community. People might know that the person in question is old, but they hardly know how old. Chances are without much in the way of a frame of reference a lot of them didn't even know how old they were.

I read a whole book about those kind of things when I was younger, and the interesting thing is that these stories. Almost always have the same common thread. They are almost always rural farmers, hunters, or fishermen. That follow routines, keep to simple diets, and are typically celibate. So if you want to live a long time. The key seems to be monotony. A boring uninteresting life seems to go on forever.

Anyway I don't want to live to be over a hundred, and I wouldn't mind too terribly if I die before I am sixty. There just isn't much dignity in those late stages of life. Seriously I don't want to wear diapers, or have to go in for big surgeries, live vicariously through others, or watch people I care about die. Stop the train I want to get off first. With a bit more dignity, a lot less pain, and a lot less boredom. If I have to die. I would rather get it over with. I am not saying right now. There are a lot of things I want to do, and to see, but once that is over with I don't want to fucking linger. Like a bad house guest who can't take a hint.

I have told as much to old people I have worked with. I ain't going to let myself go to rot. We have tall buildings for a reason. Yeah I don't believe in prohibitions against suicide.

Yeah I mean life expectancy is increasing despite unhealthly lifestyles like fast food, drugs, general no worry about future. If a man did everything right and had perfect biology I would say 150 years is not impossible to get.

Hang in there man, in the future we will be swapping out organs like parts to a car via tissue engineering. So maybe you can kill yourself at 100 yrs. instead of before 60. I'd also like to hear your take on things when you hit around 50, especially if you have children.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

Well I don't have children, and don't have intentions of having any. Mind you it isn't that I haven't thought about that, and I can appreciate the value they bring to some peoples lives, but when I am honest with myself. I have to admit that I have the wrong temperament for being a good parent. I have seen enough bad parents. I am that person that needs more solitude and order then most.

As for when I am half a century old. I honestly doubt that my opinion will change. I don't fear death half as much as I fear pain, or causing others pain. I suspect it goes deeper then that though. My grandparents on my mothers side ruined a lot of my childhood with their neediness. They played on my mothers desire to help them, and took advantage of her good nature.

I am still kind of heart broken about all the family outings that got cancelled just, because my grandmother decided to be a selfish bitch. I mean the women was a total drama queen, and a petty manipulator. She would manufacture all kinds of problems, and lay guilt trips on just about everyone. So she could have people look after here hand and foot. While my Grandfather was a decent enough guy, but physically he was a complete medical disaster area, and a total junkie too boot. I don't think he wanted to spend years so totally fucked up, but his old lady was a manipulator who laid a epic guilt trip on his ass. She worked him so hard. She had him convinced that he was going to hell. So it is no wonder he was scared to death of dying.

So it isn't like I had a lot of good role models as far as old age is concerned. So to me being old is like being just plain malevolent, or being in excruciating agony, and who would have any aspirations of being that. So I definitely don't want to be old, because it sucks, and it seems to make you a shitty person. To be fair based on the stories I heard from my mother after my grandmother passed. She was a thoroughly shitty person through out most of her life.
