Gaming Everything

While speaking with Major Nelson on his weekly podcast, Geoff Keighley provided new information regarding reveals for the 2012 VGAs.

Joining the already-confirmed premieres for The Last of Us and Gears of War: Judgment will be South of Park: Stick of Truth with the first gameplay of the title, “new content” from Tomb Raider, and new footage of BioShock Infinite. For Gears of War, Microsoft will be showing a first look at the single-player campaign, including the main enemy.

That’s not all for premieres. Brand new titles will be announced during the show, of which Keighley teased:

“And of course we’ve got some amazing surprises of announcements of new games that will be coming in the future, far beyond sort of summer of 2013. And can’t say a lot about them until the show happens, but I think we have a pretty good reputation for revealing some new games and there are going to be some fantastic titles to reveal.”

The 2012 VGAs will be shown worldwide at 9 PM EST next Friday. You’ll be able to watch the proceedings on TV, Xbox Live, or through Internet streams.

Another CoD is my guess

Batman 3???? I sure hope so!!!!

hmm games which release far beyond summer so maybe some wii u stuff or stuff which will get a release on this and next gen like battlefield 4 or something...

So, what surprise titles have the VGAs revealed in the past?

Arkham City! (Codenamed Arkham Asylum 2)

The Last of Us.

Uncharted 3.

Those are at the top of my head. The VGA are abysmal, but the announcements are always amazing.

CoD:MW2

Ok, a tad hyped now.

Saw this over on NeoGaf

“VGA TEN” will also feature highly anticipated world premieres from “Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2” (Konami), “BioShock Infinite” (2K Games), “Tomb Raider” (Square Enix), “Assassin's Creed III: The Tyranny of King Washington” (Ubisoft), “Halo 4: Spartan Ops” (Microsoft Studios) and more.

Good Q, there are a bunch of factors at play here. There are some surprises we aren't teasing at all this year for a variety of reasons. Next week we will drop some new footage on a few of the world premieres to give you a taste of what's to come on Friday night.

Geoff on Major Nelson podcast:

Can add Bioshock and Tomb Raider to the list. Gears will show off the main enemy that hasn't been seen before. South Park gameplay will be shown.

Talks about the Xbox live stream, which will be smartglass enabled. Sam Jackson will be able to talk directly to Xbox Live community, Xbox live voting will impact the show.(even more teabagging this year?)

Talks about some of the game footage from the big games coming out next spring, then says there will be games shown that are coming "far beyond summer of 2013"

Gonna be a video package where Sam Jackson is inserted into a bunch of different games. All the former hosts will be back to celebrate 10 year anniversary.(Jack Black, Zach Levi, Snoop, Neil Patrick Harris)

Will be available on demand for 48 hours on Xbox Live after show ends. Pre show will start 1 hour before.
