Woah? Thought you guys had a little more faith in Uncharted then that :P

This isn't directed to you specifically, but is this something thats being latched onto for some kind of symbolic victory? That if this happens, then it would go a long way to debunk the notion that PS3 exclusives don't sell as well?

Uncharted IMO is the #1 IP for Sony, with their franchise sales dwarfing the franchise sales of any other IP they own during the PS3 life cycle. Doing this however is an isolated victory as Gears is only the #2 IP for 360, and the Gears IP still generated more total sales this gen, most notably with Judgement edging it out. But then again Uncharted has the Vita version as its own "spinoff" if you will so really the two franchises are on even terms. Gears still comes out on top, in total.

Uncharted is Sony's #2 IP. And this thread isn't about comparing series. It's comparing two games. But if you want to make a relevant connection between the IPs and these individual games, then you're actually justifying being surprised that an Uncharted game has outsold a Gears game since, as you said, Gears has always been bigger throughout the entire generation.

Gears 3 seems to be selling very little these days. While Uncharted 3 is of course putting amazing numbers (albeit due to bundles mainly). It should pass it soon, maybe even by the end of the year. It's only 500k units behind. If it keeps doing these 100k+ weeks, then it'll pass it by the end of the year. If not, then it'll pass it by early 2013 at the latest.

Smart business move by Sony to get the Uncharted fanbase as large as possible, especially as we transition to next generation. Thre's going to be a lot of Uncharted owners/fans in 2013. An Uncharted 4 at the PS4 launch would attract a lot of gamers.

Someone I don't like dies. Actually ....... ah I spoiled enough LOL

I have never seen such a despirate post, also Gran Turismo is bigger.. Plus it's great Sony out out so many IPs every year new and old! It's not alll about sales it's about Gaming! Microsoft should really learn that putting out 6 halos in 1 gen might be good for profit but as a gamer that really sucks. Anyway back on point Gran Turismo is bigger then Halo and Uncharted bigger then Gears. So really I don't care at all and I'm just posting something a stupid as what you posted. See how silly it is? Piece of advice.. Gaming is gaming. Business is business. You are a gamer so worry about games. Don't worry about sales. Pressure publishers to release original IPs and creat new experiences not keeping buying tired franchises that are milked and offer nothing. It seems to be something gamers forgot this gen. It's worrying

LOL, don't put it in your sig not to spoil a show, it makes it too tempting.

Actually, I really don't know what's going on in season 3, I didn't spoil anything. My girlfriend has read the first 2 books, and apparently they strongly hint at various things in season 3, but I know nothing for sure, since neither of us have read the 3rd book. I could tell you some of her hypothesis's, but you probably don't want to hear them.

However, this part here is not a spoiler (Well if you watched Season 2 it's not). Do you know Robert Stark's wife in the show? She doesn't exist in the book at all. Apparently Season 1 followed the book spot on, but season 2 just went it's own way. The book also has about a dozen more characters then the show in season 2, and many events that happen in season 2, happen in book 3, and vice versa (book 2, season 3).

Actually, I didn't spoil anything, but someone does die in every season/book, and I don't like most people in the show, so.....I'll probably be right about what I said anyway.

I only really like Ned, the Midget, that Red Head Witch, and the Bastard Child.

I don't agree. I've checked your game collection. You've got new IPs as well as the 2nd, 3rd and 4th entry from a certain franchise. (I suppose that you'll have probably played the first one). All in this gen. There's nothing bad in putting out games from the same franchise in one gen. Perhaps you're trying to say that they should focus more on new IPs, - on which I agree -, but as far as that point goes there, I don't agree. Not that I particulary support the same game every year, and I rather have news IP, but I hope you understand what I'm saying.

im saying yes gamers need to suport new IP's. i also think 3 of the same franchise in a single gen is ENOUGH! 4 is reall pushing it and TBH feels unnessasery to carry that franchise on the next gen. Halo had 6 games this gen. not HD collections actually games. What games have i brought more then 3 in a gen? the only one i can think is Assassin's Creed which the only one i finnished was 2 and Brotherhood. Revelations i stopped after 3 hours because it was boring and my dad brought me 3 for my birthday and after 2 hours i sold it. its boring and tired.

And I say yes to new IP's too. And yes I was refering to Assassin's back there. The point is that games in an already established franchise are not a bad thing if done correctly. No matter if it is 3 or 7, if done properly, keep bringing them. Albeit not the best example, Ps2 had five Final Fantasy games. I could keep buying Dead Rising games ever if they kept their quality, no matter if they brought them every six months. But I do like more new IPs, but of course. Don't take me wrong, we agree there, but what I'm saying is that there has to be both things. If a gamer enjoy the seventh entry of the same game the same gen, what's the problem? One could argue the gaming industry could get lazy, but other than that...

And by the way, there has been four Halo games, non-HD collections. Not six xD

i agree, i think we can both agree on both. the issue is the industry will get lazy.

also i actually like Halo so im not slamming it at all. im saying MS should invest in more IP's. yes some wont work and some will but that doesnt mean they should stop and just release sequals.

also:

Halo 3

Halo Reach

Halo 3: ODST (£39.99 on release, full game)

Halo Wars

Halo: Combat Evolved Remake (not a HD post but fully re made wiht alot of effort)

Halo 4
