uncharted 3 will pass gears of war 3 sooner , only because of the bundles though. without the bundles it wouldnt pass gears 3 ever i firmly believe.

I'm not talking about the Gears bundle I'm talking about a standard bundle.
At least in Wal-Mart in the US Uncharted 3 is in a standard super-slim bundle, as well as the black friday bundles we had. Thats a lot more loaded then the single limited sku Gears 3 was in.

I am defiantly not turning a blind eye to it. Just sayin'.

It's just that simple.

yup, uncharted 3 is having amazing bundles

Fixed that for ya. See, bundles are evrybodies friend. Sony does it too :)

yup, thats why uncharted 3's sales before the bundling (which were about 1.1 million) well be higher than gears 3's entire 2012 sales :D

So? It wouldnt have caught up anytime soon if it wasnt bundled.

That comment is hilarious given your sig.  At least this thread is about passing lifetime sales, where you will celebrate Forza 4 for possibly passing GT5 for just this year's sales.  Of course, you ignore the fact that Forza 4 was released only a year ago, while GT5 was released 2 years ago.  This should benefit Forza 4 in terms of the natural sales drops following release and make it much harder for GT5 to compete, however, GT5 is still ahead.  Then there's also the fact that Forza 4 wouldn't have come this close without...wait for it...BUNDLES!  Also, GT5 is undertracked here, so Forza 4 has even more to go.

@ OP

Damn good for a franchise from once dead console.  Now, we know the PS3 is pretty close to overtaking the 360, as well as its top TPS franchise has a good shot at taking over the 360s top TPS franchise.  Great sales for both, of course.

Sure are . But, like I pointed out...most of the sales this year came from Europe where it isn't even bundled.

wrong again. This is in stock at amazon.de

Sometimes it is really hard to argue with you.

Uh, that's the super slim...notice how I was talking about this year as a whole. Should've used "wasn't" but this is what I meant

Wrong. AGAIN. Uncharted 3 and GT 5 are the most bundled PS3 games I can think of. This is another EUROPEAN Bundle. Found this on amazon.de
And this was available for the the better part of 2012, before the super slim bundle kicked in. Actually it says that there are only 2 left in stock on amazon.de

Seriously, what does it take to make you say: "Okay, I was wrong. Uncharted was bundled in Europe." Are you too proud for soemthing like that?

Fact is, Uncharted is bundled free with PS3s.

Gears of War 3 was sold with LTD edition 360's at a higher price, that only Gears of War 3 fans would go out and buy. I did it with Gears of War 3, and I did it again with Halo 4 LTD bundle.

If MS choose to bundle Gears 3 with standard Xbox 360s, especially in the US, you bet the gap will widen.

Most of Sony's early best selling games made it via bundles like Motorstorm and Resistance.

Hmm that's news to me. No, I will say I was wrong. But, at least it's the most expensive models that have Uncharted 3 bundled which we can assume are the least attractive models as a whole.
Don't go all "srsly, are you so proud that you can't admit you're wrong" before I have a chance to say it. At least now you've done more than you did with your first post. Would've been better to see you include all this in your post and not just come in with a hit and run post like that.

All that really does is prove both titles were bundled (Uncharted 3 a bit moreso). The fact that a franchise that started no where near Gears of War numbers to land where it is today is really saying a lot.

Well a limited edition bundle available for 2 months versus a wide range of different bundles available all over the world for the past 13 months and the forseeable future is more than "a bit" IMO.

And where exactly did Uncharted come from and where Gears did not come from? Both are new IPs this gen. One released in 2006 on a console that launched in 2005 and the other one in 2007 on a console that launched in 2006. Uncharted did not have a disadvantage or something like that.

Both titles released this generation and had to build their fanbase.  What Uncharted did isn't particularly any different or special compared to Gears.  Uncharted DF sold less because it wasn't as good and it sold to a smaller fanbase.  Uncharted 2 rated better and was hyped to the hilt hence the better sales.  Uncharted 3 was good and has been heavily bundled, it says more about how important the franchise has been to Sony imo.

Actually, Uncharted did have a disadvantage.  It started on a console whose entry price was $500, while Gears started on a console whose entry price was $300.  That's quite the disadvantage.

As I was relating to Dirty, some said Uncharted would never pass Gears (I even remember Uncharted: Drake's Fortune being touted by some as a "Gears clone"). All I'm saying is, considering that, Uncharted has come  along way, bundling or not. But it's a strong seller on its own that will now have a boost in sales. Has happened to some of this gen's notable titles; from Halo, to Forza, to Gran Turismo, inFAMOUS, and the list can go on and on.

I'm not in disagreement, I just wanted to make it clear Uncharted started from the same point as Gears, they've just taken different routes to their success.  To me its pretty clear Sony needed Uncharted to succeed so it has been pushed massively hence the success.  Microsoft have used Forza and Halo as system sellers by heavily bundling this gen too, to a lesser extent they did have a Gears 1 + 2 bundle in 2009 I think?  Wish they had bundled Halo Wars, that deserved more people to play it.
