No reason for any to die. Gaming continues to grow. Only Sega died was that they made poor business decisions.

Possibly standalone hardware that can access the entire Steam marketplace? That's a very interesting idea.

Interesting, but will it be Steam-only or aimed mainly at Steam, but actually open? Will it be a highly standardized and streamlined Windows-free PC?
If they manage to make Windows redundant in PC gaming, it will be a mighty achievement.

Nah, there's (or, have been as most died already) more consoles than Wii/XBox360/PS3 this generation too. Or do you also own the Zeebo and HyperScan?

In general, Sony is more royalty-driven and closed than Steam, that's how I feel about it.
Ehh. So they're exclusively have Half Life 3, Left 4 Dead 3, Portal 3, Team Fortress 3; can those games truly win over current gen console owners to convert to a brand new console?
