I find it funny that it's the PlayStation fans pouncing like this.

irony.

Very true. It's non stop. I don't see ethomaz making dozens of threads, or taki part in the existing threads, about how the frame rate of dozens of PS3 games is worse than the 360.

OT

I'm sure the few people that will buy this will be devastated.

Not so much about current PS360 differences, but how it took about a year (not until the big 2008 multiplats like GTAIV) for PS3 ports to not be visibly inferior to 360 games. And all the PS3 folks (of course, i was on joystiq back then, but still) were saying "just wait until developers get a hang of it."

Now, it seems, developers don't deserve that grace period.

And later today we'll have yet another Vita doom thread by a Nintendo fan and another Sony financial doom thead by a Microsoft fan.   kowenicki is probably browsing for it as we speak.  This is hardly a one sided phenomenon.

On topic, people really should stop saying "lazy devs".  The developers were probably working like crazy to optimize this game for the Wii U.  It's their career at stake as well as their pride.  Managment, publisher expectations, budget constraints, and deadlines are much more realistic reasons.

However, I'm also starting to get annoyed with people pointing at shakey ports as though it were proof of anything.  If the Wii U versions are still bad with games that were developed as Wii U multi-plats from the start, then there might be a problem, but with launch titles, which have a very hard deadline and are likely being ported by the B or C team, it should actually be expected.  People need to ease off for awhile.

The only real concern is if the Wii U versions end up requiring more overhead to fully optimize than developers can afford.  I think that's what Sony ran up against this generation.  I don't believe that's a question anyone can answer yet, but I see no reason to assume that's the case at this point.

There's no irony in a Microsoft fan posting Sony financial doom. There *is* irony in Nintendo fans who are too eager to pounce on the Vita doom train

I said the same thing in this thread.

Cry me a river.

I dont need to search for them.   They appear regularly everywhere I go, thats the point, its reality, its happening, no searching required.  I have to visit financial sites as part of my work.  Bloomberg is open on my laptop permanently for example.

Settle down, it was a joke.  A pointed one, but still a joke.

The ps3 wasn't a gen above the xbox360 and it didn't come 7years later, can you realy blame people to expect a next gen system to blow out of the water the systems from the gen before

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

No.  Not coming off the Wii.  Remember that console?

I'll pronuounce the Vita not doomed when it's not doomed :P almost got one though, that 180 dollar deal triggered the impulsive electronics whore in me, good thing amazon charges tax where I am, whew, would hate to have another PSP playtime deal all over again =_=.

After reading about WO3 and latest Digital Foundry BLOPS2 face-off, I'm starting to think that, no matter how much they've optimized, WiiU's CPU is just weak, and that no amount of  (reasonable) optimization will alleviate that. In both games heavy framerate issues are with lot of characters on screen, and that's something that can't be that easily offloaded to GPU. Well, in theory, some of it can be done, but I'm not sure devs are really prepared to go that far, knowning that NextBox and PS4 will have both powerful CPUs and GPUs.

Either way, this game is great fun , especially with friends, the downside is that you can't play the storyline with friends, its single player , until you finish the stage, which is kind of pointless if you ask me.
