And later today we'll have yet another Vita doom thread by a Nintendo fan and another Sony financial doom thead by a Microsoft fan. kowenicki is probably browsing for it as we speak. This is hardly a one sided phenomenon. On topic, people really should stop saying "lazy devs". The developers were probably working like crazy to optimize this game for the Wii U. It's their career at stake as well as their pride. Managment, publisher expectations, budget constraints, and deadlines are much more realistic reasons. However, I'm also starting to get annoyed with people pointing at shakey ports as though it were proof of anything. If the Wii U versions are still bad with games that were developed as Wii U multi-plats from the start, then there might be a problem, but with launch titles, which have a very hard deadline and are likely being ported by the B or C team, it should actually be expected. People need to ease off for awhile. The only real concern is if the Wii U versions end up requiring more overhead to fully optimize than developers can afford. I think that's what Sony ran up against this generation. I don't believe that's a question anyone can answer yet, but I see no reason to assume that's the case at this point. |
I'll pronuounce the Vita not doomed when it's not doomed :P almost got one though, that 180 dollar deal triggered the impulsive electronics whore in me, good thing amazon charges tax where I am, whew, would hate to have another PSP playtime deal all over again =_=.
