Forums - Nintendo - Wii U capable of much higher quality graphics than 360 and Ps3.

By this point I think it's reasonable to say we won't see a a generation gap between WiiU and Ps360 anyway I'd like to remember how mutliplatform games were ported back in the Ps2 early days.
At this moment no one would debate on the fact ps2 is more powerfull than a Dreamcast, still the first multiplat games ported on ps2 were on par or even worse than their Dreamcast versions. Some examples are Quake3: Arena, Unreal Tournament; Dead Or Alive 2; RE Code Veronica.

Coming from the developers of Dynasty Warriors games....wouldn't place too much focus on their opinions.
It's already known that the GPU on Wii U is more powerful though, its the slow RAM and CPU that's a limiting factor.

What I don't understand is that people do not factor that when the Wii U is running, that the tablet controller is active at the same time. Of course the CPU is "slow," as at that time when it's running, it's processing and streaming visuals to the controller. The RAM does the same thing. Now if you had the controller off somehow, I bet the clock speeds would be much higher. That's just a thought I had.

So i come too this thread and i see and old fashioned console war between, PS3 and Xbox 360. This thread is about how Wii U is capable of better graphics than both consoles, not which has the best looking games. I am pretty sure that if Microsoft really wanted to push graphics in a game and where willing to use the budget, they could make a 360 game that looked better than Uncharted 3 for example. The same goes for Sony obviously, as the Last of Us seems to take the graphic up a level again. But none of this matters, you don't play console games if you care about graphics...

A game that came out for PC 5 years ago (Crysis 1) looks better than anything that can be seen on any console. Even if you have a 5 year old PC (yes it was expensive when it came, and its pretty bad by todays standard, but it would still blow both 360 and PS3 out of the water). If you buy a PC today, for less than $300 (minus the screen) it has better graphics than PS3 and 360 easily.

So please stop saying, game X looks better than game Y, since both have crappy graphics when compared to PC, we don't play consoles to have the best graphics, we play, cause of the exclusives and the bigger player base online (also no cheaters).

Just because the PC has better graphics than consoles don't make said, top, console games "crappy-looking". I'm also cuurious to see how you'd build a PC for under $300 that would top those systems.

can prolly craiglist or ebay used parts at good deals, but brand new stuff is where it'd be pretty unlikely.

Gee, who would have thought. 2012 console is a bit more powerful than a 2005 console.

U would be suprised.. lot's of people actully believes that nintendo (despite the fact that hardware power dobbles and prices drops almost half every year) would make wii u on pair with ps360.

I have no doubt that in a year or two the Wii U will be able to pump out visuals slightly better than the PS3 or 360. However, by that time the PS4 and NeXbox will be out and be blowing by it with just their launch titles (and within a year, they will look even better). Until then, the fact that games will look the same as this gen, and in some extreme cases worse, is not going to be winning many core gamers over at anytime soon.

They can "pump" out visuals slightly better than ps360.. now..?  next year.. we will see some big differents.. (the ps360 lovers will have to surender..:) )and in 2-3 years we will se the true power.. just like ps360.. (remember back in 2006-2006 the grafic was.. not that good..

$300 ? Show me how.

Newegg:

HDD 320GB $60
Windows $100
Tower $20
RAM 2GB DDR3 $10
Mainboard $40
DVD Drive $15
Power Supply Unit $15
Mouse $5
Keyboard $5

$29.99 left and no screen, no audio, no graphics card and no CPU (and likely no CPU cooler). And given how shitty these cheap parts are (especially the PSU) it won't last you very long.

As for the Crysis comment that is a very very bad comparison. Show me a PC from 2005 that would be able to run this with higher settings than the 360 (so that it's a notable improvement or how you'd call it "blow out of the water"). I'm not saying it's impossible but the costs for that would be insane, much much more expensive than a launch 360

Take that out of the equation, im sorry, but when i count for price for a PC i never include the OS. Why? Cause i already have my OS, not gonna buy it again. And Windows 7 for me was a lot cheaper than $100... Audio cards are built into the mainboard. So that leave you with $120 to buy a CPU and a GPU, which is easy. Cause all that PC gotta do is outpreform a PS3 or 360. Personally i would spend something like $500 and get a PC that will last a couple of years.

Also yes a PC from 2005 can easily outpreform a 360, if your PC was top notch when you bought it. People don't seem to know that games like COD have native 1040x600 resolution only on consoles (even lower on PS3). Also Halo 4 was the first in the series that had 720p as native resolution. Even a PC from 2001 is capable of higher resolution.

It's pretty well accepted by most that understand console technology that the PS3 is the more powerful machine.  Just look at the difference in exclusive titles.

crysis 2 and halo 4 say hi

Halo is not a graphical game. Its has and always will be about gameplay. No Halo has ever been about graphics.

Halo CE, Halo 2 and Halo 4 beg to differ.

I have the perfect cure for your bad eyesight my friend :D

Well its all opinion based. I just dont see what so graphically impressive about any halo game. Gears is better looking than Halo. Probs the best graphics on 360.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

You do know that if the next gen consoles for Nintendos competition launch next year it will force the Wii U to its graphical limits on possible multiplats before it even reaches its first third year. A lot of multiplats will not be eligible for the Wii U, which is why Nintendo owners will have to probably own multiple consoles anyway to get both experiences. Nintendo will have to survive off of its exclusives.
