I havea  iPod classic from 2008 and it is still going strong! lol

Sorry about your nano ;(

Yeah? Maybe you've just treated it better because to be fair I have dropped this nano probably over 100 times. Shit needs grip!

No I think you are right with your first assessment of Nano being an inferior product, reliability-wise. Both my sons had Nano's and they had problems with the reliability of both. iPod classics are built like brick shit houses though. My Sister in law has one of the original iPods and it still runs smooth. Of course she's now addicted to her smartphone (Motorola Defy) so doesn't really use her iPod much.

All I want is a slide out QWERTY, but none of the telcos here carry slide out QWERTYs. I might have to see if I can import a Milestone 3 when the time comes.

No offense to anyone but I have yet to see a Sony phone owned by anyone.

Everyone I know either owns a iphone or a Samsung phone lol.

(Not even Nokia....l0l)

But good news hat Sony is the 3rd I guess o.o., I hope it grows on them.

Ive only seen one. I think it was an Xperia phone. It looks sleek but im not buying in to it.

Yay!!!

This is a start I guess, eventhough I don't get the point to brag about a 5% market share. Who the hell cares if you are third, fourth or fifth - a 5% market share is not impressive to me.

Same goes for Windows phones in the OS btw.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

why am i not surprised to read from people here that they own an xperia? ;)
i don't think their smartphones are bad but i don't see where they really differ to other ones.

Why are you not surprised?

well, a lot of people stay at a brand when buying techie-stuff and this site has a *lot* of sony-fans so it's natural that people who post/discuss here also buy sony-smartphones.

Xperia play 2 in 2014. I am waiting for it to release :D

Just shows doesn't it 3rd place..... with a meagre 5.2%

Samsung utterly dominate smartphones right now.

But still a lot better than those Windows smartphones isn't it. Give it a couple years and Sony will rival Samsung. They already got the better phone in the Xperia T and V.

Don't confuse handset manufacturer marketshare with OS marketshare.

i didn't realise this thread was purely to give you the opportunity to have a dig at MS.  MS don't make phones.

I expect Nokia to take 3rd spot in the next year or so in smartphones and cement their current second spot as worlds second largest mobile phone maker (Nokia has 23% market share (Sony 2%)).

are these smart phones? not forgetting that samsung and nokia both sell £9 phones at tesco and most other retailers which sell ridiculously well, because in our phone shop the only nokia "smartphone" that sells is the old lumia 800 because it's been reduced to the same price as a low end samsung

No they're not. I think pretty much the only companies that only sell smartphones are Apple, Sony, HTC and RIM. Samsung and Nokia both have €20 phones in their inventory.

Its so hilarious how people like kowen try to spin this newsstory. I explicitly talk about smartphones yet these individuals bring up the whole phone market.

Dumb phones won't matter in a couple years, smartphones are the big thing.

Damn, no wonder those Nokia numbers then.
