Yes it does. Let me use PS1 and N64 as an example...

As powerful as the N64 was, it was limited by its ancient cartridge format. PS1 was able to churn out much more impressive games such as Metal Gear, Final Fantasy VII....etc. A console is only as powerful as its weakest component.

Could it be that you were easily impressionable as a child?

Huh? What does that have to do with anything?

I owned both PS1 and N64 in case you're somehow calling me a troll.

maybe you were easily impressionable at that age, golden eye 64, TLZ Ocarina of time, Turok 1,2 and 3 and Perfect Dark blow away the posibilitys of the ps1, back in the day that games were only possible in the  powerfull N64.

Didn't play most of those games, like I said back then I had both consoles but my parents bought my games, so my library was pretty small.

I just remember having a lot of fun with the PS1. Tony Hawk, Lego Racers...etc. These are the games I remember the most since they were the most fun.

I do however remember playing Mortal Kombat 4 on the N64, also games like Super Mario 64 and Donkey Kong 64.

Looking back it now though, PS1 was the better system. Had the better control, better games..etc. Back then I didn't know about tech specs, but I do now.

Both PS1 and N64 were comparable in power, both had their strenghts and weaknesses.  To say the PS1 was weak is an exaggeration. It was far from it.

i no gonna argue with you about the power of the n64 vs ps1, it is clear you are not going to listen to facts. so lets take this in another direction...

you say: "PS1 was the better system. Had the better control, better games..etc. Back then I didn't know about tech specs, but I do now." so yep sony win that generation not for raw power but for the things you listed, so you understand now what is the path for sony to survive and bring a ps5 someday?.  i hope i've enligthtened you :).

same way Nintendo and MS fans did

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

if it is only as powerful as the wiiU i'll be very disappointed. might go to PC gaming again or MS. dunno.

if it is not quite a powerful as MS's next console but still significantly better than wiiU i won't care much.

as we've seen this gen between the ps360 ... power is a bit relative. ps3 is supposed to be the best but many games look worse anyways. as long as it takes a digital foundry analysis to actually see the differences i won't care.

As long as the next system doesn't regress somehow I honestly don't care, lately I prefer sony for the first and exclusive third party offerings they give that suit my tastes. If the next system continues do do that I'll stick with them, if it doesn't I'll go with whoever offers me the games I want to play.

Old sony fans wont care as much as the newer ones. Most likely the NeXbox and PS4 will be very similar again though.

As a Nintendo fan, Sony won me over by their growing dedication to 1st and 2nd party games. They cater to their fanbase, they cater to gamers. As long as they can still afford to do so, that's all that really counts.

They will have to, if this gen has proven one thing it’s that cheap and badly made consoles do sell.

cheap and badly made consoles tend to break however if you check the fail rate of this gen you can see the cheap but well made Wii has the least percentage fail rate. that can't be said about the two expencive HD consoles. mostly 360 though :P

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

As a Sony fan I voted for not caring.

Personally I think both next gen MS and Sony consoles will be close to power. I got the idea however after seeing some Sony fans attacking Wii U for being "underpowered".

Its just in general some Sony fans seem to be caring more and more about graphics now days.

yes it is fact that nintendo hardware has the least percentage fail rate no  just in this generation but since the NES.
