Many of MS fans misunderstood the article. I can agree 100% that is not failing from a MS view as a company because of tons of cash coming out of it.

However, the article is about the value you get out of PS+ compared to Live. And I can ensure you that the value you get from PS+ as a customer is much more what you get out of Live.

Next topic please.

But you can't compare the two. They are completely didn't types of services. Xbox Live is the overall experience. That is everything from playing online, using apps, and every other feature. PS+ is just a service Playstation offeres that includes getting free games and early access to stuff. It doesn't have anything to do with online play or their apps.

To me (someone that doesn't give a shit about xbox live or psn+, I would have to agree with the psn users.   Xbox live doesn't offer shit compared to psn+.  I mean you have Netflix on Xbox Live Gold when it shouldn't even be charged  (every system has Netflix now).  You pay extra for cross game chat that is all I see in Live Gold membership.

But again it is apples to oranges. The comparing should be Xbox Live and PSN. Not PS+. PS+ is just a subscription service to get free games. It has nothing to do with online experiences. What this does is make it an easy way to not talk about PSN not being up to par with Xbox Live and just comparing getting Free Games to paying for Xbox Live.

Wow. Just wow. You obviously don't know what you're talking about. DLC exclusives (or the priviledge to get DLC before anyone else)  alone is more than enough reason why many people pay for XBL. That's just one, and a big one at that.

its not failing....does it suck next to psplus? yeah....

I'm not too sure about this.  I'll say that PS+ is a great service, but the only thing really that beats Xbox Live about it is the free games.  I really don't see anything else about it that beats it.  PSN has yet to offer cross game chat.  And lets face it, 4 of these 6 arguements aren't very good .  As I said, PS+ is a great service don't get me wrong, but I don't agree that it "sucks" comparted to XBL.

thats not true. psn does offer cross game chat.

on topic. this is obviously very biased article but does bring up some pros and cons. really both services are good and are nearly indistinguishable.

i dont have psn plus, so cant really comment on it. and i do wish i didnt have to pay for xbox live.

psn does not offer cross game chat   http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2011/08/19/cross-game-chat-for-ps3-not-possible/

From a consumer perspective, LIVE is failing pretty hard.

i agree, they should give some free games every 2 months like Ps Plus.

i dont understand why they dont.

Spurgeonryan, the only thing I see that is failing is you with creating this thread.

If sony have to dish out free game to get subscribers, then its a loss for them. XBL is fantastic.

HAHAHA

Its a loss for Sony? No! but its a WINNNNNN for gamers. Its YOUR LOSS for missing out on freebies.

They should have used that money to make new games, because now you have a holiday period with not not one great Exclusive game for Vita or PS3... Very sad for a company that is called the Exclusives king..

Because they gave games like Happy wars and not many cared.

It only has "value" if you want the games.  I have a good enough disposable income that I can buy the games I want, when I want so I wouldn't have time to play what are frankly older games.  I think the service has more value for a younger audience personally.  I think you misunderstood that the point of the article is to troll Live pure and simple.

PS3 is a beast next year, its best year probably, Vita launch was bad, but it still has the best launch year Ive ever seen.

And not good games? Try LBKarting, PS All Stars, AC3 Liberations, Tales of Graces f, One Piece Pirate Warrios, Virtues Last Reward, LBP Vita, Unfinished Swan, all the downloadable games

and.... PS+ VITA!!

Some of the games on PS+ are brand new releases, from the last 2 months for instance Double Dragon Neon and Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit.

Not to mention day 1 discounts on other new releases.  If are the sort of person who buys a lot of stuff then it pretty much pays for itself in discounts alone, nevermind anything else it offers.

Those two 'new' games are the kind of games that are having a hard time to break + 10 k sales first week.  Even popular games that people are crying for years like Nights hardly reach 10k first month...  PSN/XBLA sales of games are very dissapointing because the audience is very small...  Ofcourse you have once in a while a big hit but it is very rare.
