I'm sorry for your loss....

My 60GB launch PS3 was on the point of dying, but luckily, when we moved house they left behind a slim PS3! We had already bought a 2nd as a blu-ray player, so my launch PS3 got taken out of active duty before her death and I am using a slightly newer (but still fat) as my main PS3 at the moment, but I fear it's time is coming

The worst thing is that your PS3 was only a year short of the PS4...

Are you going to be getting a super slim?

You know what you have to do now? Burn the house down. Burn them all!

I hope you have backed up your saves onto a memory stick / cloud storage D:

RIP console!

Your PS3 is a girl? I only buy boy consoles.

It seems it was the CPU that went in this case, so the HDD should be fine, though i wont know for certain until I am able to test it

Eventually yes!  If I am able, I plan on picking one up on Black Friday

Rest in piece. 6 years is a good service record considering mine didn't make it far past the 3 year mark after repairs.
It still guards my game collection to this day.
