That's not a great read is it.

I'm getting a tad nervous about my pre-order.

Try it and let us all know please. For some reason i am in the new console buying mood this year.

If you enjoy nintendo games, I guess you should go for it.

Honestly, I never understood why people buy systems when they're getting launched... You pay much more for a console with less features and a veeery small catalogue of games.

The guy who bought a Ps3 in 2010/11 got a lot more bang for his buck than the guy who bought it in 2006/7. Same goes for Wii, and don't even get me started on 360

Impatience! I know that if I waited 1 or 2 months after the launch of every game, I could save myself 40-50% on the cost of games, but new things are exciting!

I don't see why people really expected the Wii U to take that much of a graphical leap, Nintendo is not really interested in that. The only question is when the PS4/720 are released, will it still get "HD" ports? If not, I forsee a similar situation to the Wii in terms of 3rd party support. The concern sales-wise would be, as the review says, that there is currently no killer app for the Game Pad to cause huge sales like Wii Sports did

Its not going to be quite the same. As i outlined in another thread, in terms of CPU/GPU and memory, Wii U is going to be much more similar to the competition than Wii was to PS360, even if the difference is going to be noticeable. Also: Math fact: for the Wii U -> Orbis/Durango gap to the same as the Wii -> PS360 gap, Orbis/Durango would have to host 12 GB of RAM.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

the wii u is a great system and of course like all new hardware it gets better with age. ppl just need to go with there instincts and stop listening to all the doubters and haters out there about the wii u. if u want the system, then buy it. i love the system and cant wait for all the good software that is out now and years too come.

Let's make this easy.

If you are buying a Wii U for Nintendo's first party offerings, then don't hesitate!

If you are buying a Wii U for third party support - what kind of rock have you been living under the last few generations? You don't buy Nintendo consoles for third party support, because there never is after the initial flux of crap ports.

I hope I helped solve any dilemmas here. =)

Maybe because the 3DS has stereoscopic 3D and sells like hot cakes because of it?

Silly Rol; only one screen can have 3D, and it's not the touch screen!

I'm glad my kids (ages 15 and 8) aren't really interested in getting the Wii U, otherwise I would have to put my foot down and say no. For the increased price, you would think the graphical results would be better, not on par with (or slightly better than in a year or two) 6 year old tech.

@ Mr Kahn

I hope that was a joke. 12GB of RAM? Right. All they would need is maybe 4 GB, a decent CPU, and a really good GPU for you to see a pretty big leap.

That's sort of the point. People are saying "Wii all over again," but, as i said, math

512/88 (the ratio of PS360 ram to Wii ram) = 5.818181 (repeating). 2 (Wii U RAM) * 5.81818181 = 11.6 something or other. So for the gap to be as big, in terms of raw numbers, you would need 12 Gigs of RAM.
