Hmmm. I'm going to wait for reviews. I'm a bit skeptical getting All stars due to the fact that I love smash bros too much.

Currently own:

  • Ps4

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

Don't get your hopes up.  This game will have bias against so hard that it will somehow out wiegh the fanboyism on metacritic.  I fully expect it to score lower than it deserves.

Can't wait to see how Kat looks and plays in this game. I am going to go ahead and guess that she will do her kicking abilities as standard attacks, gravity kicks as a powerful one, her specials will encompass her specials from the actual game, last one being she turns all red and unleashes galactic fury on opponents.

so what are your thoughts on the game having beaten it?

what are your favourite things about it?

anything you think they could have done better?

Pleasently surprised by the music. Especially "Invasion (Killzone/Ape Escape).I haven't played on every stage yet though. The game feels smoother and looks noticably better than the last beta. I thought I might have just been seeing things in the last set of videos that were released but playing it for myself there I see that there is a big difference.

The menu's are well layed out and for the most part. I like the way the interface is set up. You don't have to go to any special menu or even versus match for everyone to pick up a controller and join in. It's all done while in any menu. Even setting up your controlls while another player sets up the match. This was definitely made with group play in mind.

To cut to the chase, I really only have 2 gripes with the game.

1) Control options - They don't exist on the Vita version. I really just want to switch the block and super buttons. On PS3 as well, I want to use R1 for block. Just feels like that's where it should be. I don't get why the PS3 controlls are FULLY customizable but the Vita's isn't. So, because I plan to play both version (vita version when i'm not home) I'll be using L1 for supers and R1 for blocks. Just gonna have to get used to it.

2) Outside of the excellent final boss, there's not much to the Arcade mode. I was expecting a bit more. It's your standard fighting game arcade with no real flair inbetween matches. The rivalry seens I'm expecting to be hit or miss. Spike and Parappa's (played as Spike) cutscene was actually pretty enjoyable. The 2 had an interesting reason to fight. On the other hand, Sir Daniel and Radec's (played as Sir Dan) cutscene was.... meh. Felt short. Was somewhat humorous but there really wasn't much discussion or interaction between though. It could have been better.

Oh! Favourite thing (other than how fun the gameplay is?) would be the stages. The mashups  are cool to see in action. In addition to the 14 mash-up levels, there's also 6 plain ones with variations on platforms. If you don't want to use plain stages, there's an option to turn off stage hazards which is pretty sweet for competitive play.

ok great impressions, tbh i didn't expect that much from the arcade mode

i'm definitely getting this primarily for the multiplayer

so have you tried the online at all?

back in the beta i remember there being occasional problems like lag, players teleporting around etc

they weren't frequent but it was annoying

Cool, sounds good so far. Explain the game's longevity to me? I need to know is it just going to be a typical fighter bare bones? or does it have some other play modes to keep things interesting? What are these collectibles I have been hearing about? Hopefully some of them are ingame costumes for the characters.
